Featured Ashford Hotels

Stay among apple orchards and traditional English "oast" houses when you book at one of our Holiday Inn® Ashford hotels. Tree-lined streets flanked by medieval and Tudor buildings bustle with shoppers while the nearby Eurostar speeds visitors to the continent.

Set in the heart of the English countryside, Ashford's ancient center buzzes with the modern conveniences of 21st-century life. Visitors and locals pass by one of the few remaining First World War era tanks as they browse the wide selection of independent shops or head for coffee in a street-side cafe. Minutes from our Ashford hotels is the New Mill at Willesborough, a fully functioning Victorian windmill and now a fascinating museum filled with vintage bicycles and mopeds. Henry VIII's former home at Leeds Castle is just a short drive from our hotels in Ashford. With its fairy-tale turrets and deep moat, this is to many the quintessential English castle.

Ashford's small town center is crammed with lively cafes serving fast and affordable light lunches. The local pubs, which pride themselves on their warm welcome, make cozy spots to settle in for a long evening of dining and sipping pints of traditional "real ale"-unfiltered cask-conditioned beer. Bargain hunters make a beeline for the deeply discounted goods at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet, a center for 80 designer brands and close to our Ashford hotels.

Book into one of our Ashford hotels to experience this vibrant historic town and its leisure-time pleasures. Venture out from our Ashford hotels into rural Kentish for hikes in the countryside and tasting tours at Biddenden Vineyards, which is putting English sparkling wines on the map and producing that most English of beverages, cider.

Flagship for HIE
By Cymru am byth
We frequently stay in HIE hotels but this is by far and away the best of them. The improvements to the brand are very noticeable and effective. The lovely courtyard garden certainly made us want to [More] return to enjoy this facility when it is complete. The changes make the hotel feel very airy and spacious. Only downside was the lack of attention to small details in the bathroom - nowhere to hang towels or clothes. The one rail was too close to the top to be able to hang anything on. [Less]

Canterbury Holiday Inn Express is comfortable and a handy base for touring the area. The staff are very good and respond to any request promptly. The two downsides of the hotel was road noise while [More] in our room and chose of cooked breakfast. However we would use this hotel again when in this area. [Less]
Perfectly adequate hotel and stay
By Dawn7311
The hotel complies with brand standards, you get what is expected of the chain. The rooms are clean and are the general areas. We had a room on the 2nd floor (No Lift), it was very quiet, the shower [More] was good plenty of hot water. As my mother is 82 I did ask for a ground floor on arrival, my fault I had not realized or appreciated that there was not a lift or I would of put the request in on booking. But all the down stairs room had been allocated so we had to struggle up the stairs with our cases, no help was offered. Breakfast was a nightmare, the restaurant was so busy we could not get a table and had to sit in the lounge and eat from a coffee table. The pastries were hard and dry and we could not eat them. The hot food was fine, with plenty of top ups as things were being taken. One of the drinks machines was playing up and a member of staff was vainly trying to repair it, so there was only one hot drink machine working. There were 2 meeting room doors open and I think one of them might of been set up as an overflow dining area, but as there was no signs to say or staff to tell us we did not venture into the room. The hotel is based on the outskirts and not near anything else except a service station. The restaurant in the evening also gets busy as there is no where else to go. On arrival into our room it was like a fridge, the day was cold and wet as well, so to arrive into a cold room was not the best welcome. We contacted reception and the receptionist came up and put the heating on for us. It took about 30 minutes to warm up but was then fine. Internet was fine and the TV was also adequate for our needs. Tea and Coffee in the room and if you run out reception are more than happy for you to pop down and restock. [Less]
Great service and refurbished room.
By Vinny14
The refurbished rooms are good although the corridors now need to be updated to the same level. [Less]

The hotel presented its usual high standard however one area that let it down was the vacuuming of the passage way carpets. Together with the carpeted stairs and stair wells areas Dust and fluff has [More] been left to build up, along the edges, against the walls and stair risers, that when scuffed by a shoe formed into amounts of dusty fluff that should not be expected. Whilst the stairs down to the lower ground floor are used by staff and guests, the collected amounts of dusty fluff were still there on the second day. Though they were very noticeable by anyone in charge of house cleaning of common areas. This overlooked cleaning deficiency was the only item that let this establishment down. Otherwise it lived up to its usual high standard. [Less]
