Featured Chester Hotels

Choose one of our Holiday Inn® Chester hotels and within minutes you'll be walking along the immaculately preserved ancient city walls and taking in the beauty of medieval Chester.

Our hotels in Chester, England, are just moments from the famous Chester Rows, covered walkways that date from the 13th and 14th centuries and make Chester's charming city center as historic as it is eye-catching. The impressive black-and-white wood-clad facades in the center of the city give way to wider boulevards as you travel toward the River Dee and the imposing Chester Castle, near the historic Chester Racecourse. It's free to tour Chester Castle, in constant use for some 2,000 years. Discover a little about Chester's past as an important Roman settlement or admire the collection of Victorian paintings in the Grosvenor Museum. Then relax in nearby Grosvenor Park, where wooded walkways lead you to a secluded "magic" well.

Nearly all the city's restaurants, bars and traditional pubs are located within the city walls and close to our Chester hotels. Take a trip to the riverside and sip on a local ale in a pub beer garden. Or sample award-winning fare in one of the on-course restaurants on the Chester Racecourse, where you can place bets on a horse race or two while you dine. Our Chester hotels are also just a short drive from the hills of North Wales and the Peak District.

Book our Chester hotels and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of ancient Chester any time of year. Visit in the summer for the Chester Summer Music Festival. Bring the kids in October for the Shell Chester Literature Festival, which celebrates the written word and offers a popular children's mini-festival, GobbleDEEbook.

Holiday Inn Runcorn
By Reg62
Good for access to Liverpool, Manchester and surrounding towns. Good welcome when you arrive, staff very helpful. Rooms are small compared with other Holday Inns I have stayed at. Windows left open [More] in room during the day meant it was very cold in the bedroom when I got there and took a while to warm up. Overall a good hotel. [Less]
Ideal for business stopovers

Quiet room and comfortable bed, breakfast was excellent and service was good but dinner service menu was limited. [Less]
Great Stay
By smoothguy
An overnight stop for shopping at the nearby Cheshire Oaks Shopping Village, but is a short 15 minute drive away. The room was clean, looking recently refurbished although retaining some of the older [More] furniture, and matress felt a little 'tired'. Everything was good, although the breakfast had been kept warm for some time, the eggs specially being cold and rubbery although I suppose to be expected when the hotel was so quiet, being middle January and I could have requested some to be cooked fresh. Have stayed here before and would definitely again, as the negative points are very minor! [Less]

as much as we enjoyed our stay at this hotel ,my only gripe was they did not have a big breakfast menu, no bacon, black pudding, tomatoes ,mushroom most things you expect from hotel change ,but that [More] was it, thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend [Less]
Always a good choice in Hoylake

Room clean and comfortable nights sleep
By HenryFred
Rang before hand to alter date after booking, receptionists quite abrupt and unhelpful. Changed it myself on Internet. Gentleman on reception was lovely when we arrived. The one in the morning was a [More] bit abrupt, maybe the one Who had answered the phone to me the previous week. But overall a lovely place very near to all the amenities. [Less]
Very Good Hotel But Noisy Air Con
By DSRD
We recently spent 2 nights at the hotel and overall we found it very good. However, our first night was a problem due to the noise from the hotel's air conditioning system. After complaining to [More] reception in person at midnight (the in room telephones weren't working) it was eventually switched off but we requested to be moved to another room the next day. The room switch was handled brilliantly by Emma, the duty manager, who offered a choice of rooms and personally showed us what was available. We spoke to her on a number of occasions during our stay and we were impressed at how helpful, polite and friendly she was, a real credit to the hotel. We will definitely stay here again when we next visit Chester. [Less]
nice stay but could improve
By micky the chip
2 night leisure break to see Chester and visit relatives. Hotel is ideally situated 5mins from the centre. Where there is plenty of eating and drinking venues The room was ok except that you could [More] hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms. The breakfast was plentiful but a better choice for English breakfast would be better. Nice that you could have as much tea and coffee as you wished throughout the day. [Less]
