Choose from our range of Newcastle family hotels located both in the heart of the city and its surrounding areas and get the most out of your break in this bustling city.
Newcastle is England's northernmost city and is the principal city of the North East. Located on the River Tyne, Newcastle developed as one of the powerhouses of the coal mining industry.
The city is served by a mainline train station and an international airport, making it easily accessible from all over the UK. Arriving into Newcastle, you are immediately struck by some of the region's most iconic views, whether it's the stunning view of the bridges over the Tyne as you approach on the train or Gateshead's Angel of the North greeting motorists northbound on the A1.
Newcastle has loads to offer in the way of the arts, shopping and nightlife. Pay a visit to the Hancock Museum - or if paintings are more your thing - the Laing Art Gallery.
Shop till you drop in Eldon Square and Northumberland Street and do not miss out on Fenwick's window if you're lucky enough to be here in the Christmas period.
Newcastle is famous for its nightlife: enjoy a bottle of the famous Newcastle Brown Ale on the Quayside or get glammed up and brave the Bigg Market. A night out "on the toon" is like nothing you will have experienced before!
Sportswise, there is really only one sport the Geordies are interested in: football. Get along to St. James's Park and mingle with Newcastle United's fanatical fans.
Whether you're coming for a city break with family or just to enjoy the city, choose one of our Newcastle family hotels and you will not be disappointed.
I was travelling from London to Edinburgh and needed a good midway rest stop to spend the night. This Holiday Inn more than satisfied my requirements. It is easily accessible off the A1(M), near to a[More] good range of services (shops and restaurants) and has amble parking.[Less]
Room was great. Best TV we have seen in any Travel hotel. Will be making Holiday Inn my first website to search for in future.[Less]
Returning yet again!

Area around the hotel, a bit disappointing. Public transport at about 7-10 minutes walk.[Less]
Great hotel in good location
This was my 2nd stay at the Crowne Plaza and really enjoyed it again - I stayed this time based on my experience of previous visit. Great location just round corner from the train station. Nice[More] little touches in the room to make the stay more comfortable too[Less]

Clean and Quiet Overnight stay
By C and H
We stayed on a Friday night while visiting family. Our room appeared to have been recently refurbished - it was very clean and the bathroom was spotless. A good choice of 'Freeview' channels -[More] including HD - and free wifi (no logging in needed) - helped too. Breakfast was pretty good - with a wide choice of cereals, basic cooked items, and marmite provided! The staff were pleasant and helpful. Very good price too. Couldn't fault it.[Less]
