I was in Yinchuan on a business-trip for an extended period of time (about 3 weeks). I choose to stay in the Holiday Inn because I have been there before (only for one night) and I liked the
While I was checking in the receptionist offered me a better rate than (due to the long stay) than I got on the internet.
Every time I needed something from the front desk the receptionist and/or the front-desk manager put an exceptional effort in trying to help me.
Unfortunately while I was in Yinchuan I hurt my shoulder and my knee. After the pain in my shoulder did not get better after two days, I asked the front-desk about a good hospital I can go to, to check my shoulder. They referred me to the University Hospital and made all the arrangements to drive me to the hospital the next day (Saturday) in the morning.
On Saturday morning a receptionist (Nicole – it was her day off)) and the front desk manager (Alex) accompanied me to the Hospital to help me get through all the necessary paperwork (in Chinese) and communicate with the Doctors in the hospital. We spent about 3 to 4 hours in the Hospital until we went back to the Hotel. Thanks to Nicole and Alex I found out that my shoulder was broken, so I decided to go back to the US ASAP for further treatment.
Unfortunately the next day it was snowing in Beijing and all flights from Yinchuan to Beijing were cancelled. After I was dropped off at the Yinchuan Airport by the Holiday-Inn driver and bell-boy (he helped me with my luggage and acted as a translator) I spent 4 to 5 hours at the Airport until it was clear that I have to stay another night in Yinchuan. Again the Holiday-Inn staff picked me up at the airport and drove me back to the Hotel.
Now I had to reschedule my flight for early Monday morning, since my scheduled return flight to the US left at noon from Beijing International Airport. Again the Holiday-Inn staff (Alex, Nicole and another front-desk manager / she was tall and slim – unfortunately I forgot her name) helped me to book this flight to Beijing. It took us about three hours until we found a flight (since all morning flights out of Yinchuan were booked – due the cancellation on Sunday).
I left the Holiday-Inn early Monday morning (again the bell-boy accompanied me), made it in time to Beijing and caught my flight to the US thanks to the exceptional staff (managers, receptionists and bell-boys) at the Holiday-Inn in Yinchuan.
In particular I want to thank:
Nicole (receptionist who helped me during her day-off and spoke fluent in English)
Alex (manager, he organized everything for me)
The tall and slim Lady (manager, she booked my flight to Beijing at 1.00 am on Monday morning)
Cora (manager, whatever I asked her, she made it work)
And all the rest of the Holiday-Inn staff (receptionists, bell-boys, room service, …)
It was an exceptional experience of Chinese hospitality for me, and I will never forget it.
I hope I have the chance to stay in your Hotel again in the near future.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you,
