Featured Rome Hotels

As a guest of our Holiday Inn® Rome hotels, it's easy to explore Italy's historic capital. With papal treasures, imposing ruins and baroque squares unfolding at every turn, the Eternal City is a living monument to the glory of ancient Rome.

Plunge into the city's lively streetscape from our hotels in Rome, where candy-colored Vespas zip around cobbled alleyways. The massive Colosseum is a popular spot for family photos with costumed gladiators. In the neighboring Forum, crumbling columns evoke the days of Julius Caesar. Sunlight streams through the dome of the Pantheon just as it has since the second century A.D. The Vatican beckons with two iconic artworks by Michelangelo: the Pietà statue in St. Peter's Basilica and the painted ceiling in the Sistine Chapel. The modern Metro threads its ways through archaeological ruins, delivering you to centuries-old sights like the Trevi Fountain. Toss a coin in the baroque fountain to ensure your return to Rome.

Relax into la dolce vita ("the sweet life") when you stay in our hotels in Rome. It's a short trip from our Rome hotels to Piazza Navona, the most beautiful square in the city's centro storico (historic center). Here, students, priests and jetsetters alike gather for the traditional evening passeggiata (stroll). Our Rome hotels are also near Trastevere, a medieval neighborhood humming with restaurants and bars. Try original Roman dishes like fried artichokes and spaghetti alla carbonara, rich with bacon and eggs, in alfresco cafes on narrow cobblestone alleyways.

Book our Holiday Inn Rome hotels for sublime and simple pleasures all year round. Come in spring to enjoy the city's colorful religious festivals, particularly around Holy Week. In summer, Rome's historic ruins are dramatically spotlit.

Overall a fine stay
By IHATENYY
Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Supermarket next door was convenient. Tram 14 was a breeze to get to/from main Termini station, did not mind the walk to the station and or the 25 minutes to the city [More] center. Once you get a handle on where to purchase the Tram ticket (Tobacco shop with the "T" right by the light...buy round trip so you don't need to worry about the return), you are good to go. Once you get to Termini, you nicely connect on to the Metro with the same ticket. It would be nice to have a wider variety of fresh versus canned fruit at breakfast but overall the bread/pastry selection is good (although I did have to regularly ask for the whole wheat bread to be restocked). I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Bonus travel advice...spend one day and visit Ostia Antica. Need to buy another train ticket from Pyramid metro stop but it is so well worth it. Better yet, buy the 24 hour pass and the Tram, Metro and train to Ostia Antica from the Pyramid station stop is included. [Less]

Very friendly stuff, very good breakfast, big room for 4 people, nice bathroom [Less]
Good stay for leisure holiday.

Excellent stay. Staff were friendly and very helpful. We were two couples all members over the age of 60. [Less]
Good hotel

We stayed for an overnight stop before flying back home. The hotel itself is excellent, but it is in an awkward location to access via public transportation. [Less]
Wonderful hotel tucked away in a quiet, unassuming neighborhood
By Travels with Jeff and Sue
Delightful property with helpful staff and an outstanding breakfast!. Immaculately maintained, which my wife and I came to appreciate more and more as we continued to tour other cities in [More] Europe. Just understand that they turn the AC off at 11:00 PM. The 90 F temps during our stay rendered sleeping a tad uncomfortable. It's a very short walk to the bus stop ... catch bus 85 to the heart of Rome with ease. [Less]
Great Value for Money
By Liwen123
My family has been loyal members of IHG ever since I can remember, and Holiday Inn Rome San Giovanni absolutely adheres to the high standards of IHG. The hotel grounds were relaxing, the hotel [More] environment was modern and beautiful, and the room was very comfortable. We loved the connecting rooms! Part of our family only stayed for one night, and one member of our family had to extend his stay, and the hotel was very flexible in changing his reservation. The breakfast was plentiful and surprisingly good! The car service to the airport offered by the hotel was excellent and good value. My complaints are that the room amenities are not enough. Even simple things like soap/lotion/tea/coffee had to be requested, which makes it very inconvenient for guests. Also, there is no safe in the room. Okay for short stays but not long stays. [Less]
Business Rome
By amq2
Perfect for business in Parco dei Medici, not for tourism in Rome. Prices are high, no option for single breakfast (must pay for 2), meals at restaurant are expensive and not that good. There is a [More] restaurant outside the hotel that saves the day. [Less]
good swimming pool
By yutaka65
This hotel is in Rome but I feel like resort hotel with good swimming pool and sun shine. I feel relux in this hotel always. [Less]
Big room with airport shuttle service
By Tammiey
The room size is bigger than standard hotel in Italy, good breakfast. Location is far from the city center but if you are here for work around this area, walking distance from hotel to office is a [More] plus. Best thing is free shuttle from airport to hotel, on the way back you have to pay 4 euros but its worth considering the convenience and not have to worry about carrying big luggage to the train.
