Featured Northampton Hotels

Make our Holiday Inn® Northampton hotels your base for exploring the architectural gems of this ancient city and the collection of stately homes in the surrounding Northamptonshire countryside.

Our Northampton hotels make it easy to explore Northampton, a historic English market town in the throes of a booming renaissance. With a history that dates back to the Bronze Age, Northampton is home to one of the last remaining round churches in the country. The Church of the Holy Sepulchre was built in 1100 to resemble a Jerusalem church with the same name. Take a stroll to Derngate street past the decorative Northampton Guildhall, an impressive Victorian Gothic building from the 1860s. Stop in at 78 Derngate to admire its stunning Art Nouveau interior, the work of noted Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. At the bottom of Derngate is Becket's Park, close to our hotels in Northampton. The park's mighty trees provide shade on sunny days while the River Nene drifts quietly by.

The rural countryside of Northamptonshire nearby is dotted with church spires and magnificent homes, all within easy driving distance of our Northampton hotels. Visit Althorp, birthplace of Diana, Princess of Wales, and the Spencers' ancestral home since the early 16th century. Althorp is open to the public in summer, and its priceless collection of van Dyck paintings alone is worth a visit. Spend evenings in Northampton at the theater in Derngate. The pubs and restaurants nearby are a popular place for drinking and dining on weekends. For Asian cuisine try Wellingborough Road, where Indian and Vietnamese restaurants vie for local supremacy.

Book one of our Northampton hotels and explore Northampton and the surrounding region. Within thirty miles you can find historic homes, ancient forests and remarkable architecture.

Excellent Hotel
By Mrs Sherlock
The staff at this hotel are friendly in a genuine down to earth way and very welcoming. Dinner was served quickly and the food very good. The room was spacious and furnished well, with a large [More] comfortable bed and was very quiet. I had the best nights sleep ever when away from home. Breakfast was fresh and hot with lots of choice. I would definitely return to this hotel if in the area and would feel confident in recommending. [Less]
Comfortable stay and very good service by staff

Beautiful Period rooms and great character
By A Gem
This was a wonderful hotel, had a lovely character. Despite being a motorway stop, I was pleasantly surprised by how nice my room was. Had a lovely stay which was slightly marred by the fact there [More] was no soap in the shower, but great if you are passing by and need a place to put your feet up. [Less]
Holiday Inn Garden Court® A1 Sandy - Bedford
By Lewo
more like a corporate training centre than a hotel, but the staff were up to the standards expected as was the dinner and breakfast. [Less]
a pleasant stay but room decor a little 'tired'
By Sandy291215
overall a good night's sleep, but the room would be more welcoming with a new carpet and with a mattress topper the bed would be more comfortable. The bathroom fan is loud and appears to last more [More] than a few minutes, so don't use at night unless you're a heavy sleeper - we used a torch. [Less]
Wedding stay
By MattsH231
Myself and fiancé stayed at the Holiday Inn in Sandy as we were attending a wedding nearby in Royston. We were accompanied by another 4 other guests and awaited pre-arranged pickup. Unfortunately our [More] pickup was late so the Manager very kindly called ahead for us. Despite crossed wires with the taxis she also managed to book us another cab though when it arrived there had been a further mix up and it could only seat 4 passengers, not 6. The Manager then lent her own car to another member of staff to ferry us to our destination. I was incredibly impressed by the efficiency and generosity present at the hotel and this extends to all the staff. Thank you. [Less]
Booking Advice - not meant for publication
By AdrianPM
Stay here on and off over last 8 years. Had stayed a few weeks before this stay so hadn't completed this review. But...on that previous stay , it had been suggested by receptionist I should call and [More] book (especially to make sure am away from noise if a function is on) , so I did , price was same as hotel website. Made contact tonight to make a next booking, very helpful lady, but price was a few pounds more expensive than web , which , I may be wrong but I thought I'd been told it would be matched if I ring. So I said I would book online and I did , but am afraid with the City Centre Hol Inn - I was having a bit of a sulk. Another time , when I am not sulking, I will return to booking online I'm sure, but I must admit to being a bit puzzled. [Less]
Would not be my first choice
By Andy43I
My colleague experienced issues with his food during the stay, and my room was a little on the cold side. Other than that, it was okay. The website states that there is 'limited' fitness facilities [More] plus off-site facilities. There are no off-site facilities on offer. The building (in parts) could do with some care (wallpaper hanging off due to water ingress). [Less]
Welcome from an old Friend
By cyber-voyager
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years when I have travelled to Milton Keynes for business. The location of the hotel is ideal for reaching the office quickly in the mornings [More] and it is a comforting and welcoming place. The welcome I received from various members of staff was particularly warm and friendly. This included the lady at the check in desk, the restaurant staff and even the hand written welcome card in my room. I really felt that the staff at this hotel were trying "to go the extra mile" to make my stay as pleasant as possible. I stay at a number of hotels over the course of a year, I can state without doubt that its the hotels with great service that will be the most memorable. [Less]
