Stay at our hotels in Birmingham, Alabama, in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Visit key historic sites of the Civil Rights movement and experience high-speed thrills at Talladega Superspeedway.

Our Birmingham hotels are near the Civil Rights District, where museums and historic sites memorialize this city's role in the struggle for racial equality in the 1950s and 1960s. The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute mounts exhibitions of African American history and art. Watch a stirring video of the Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivering his 'I Have a Dream' speech before heading across the street to the 16th Street Baptist Church. Four African American girls were killed in 1963 when racists bombed this historic church. NASCAR fans make a pit stop at Talladega Superspeedway to tour the racetrack and honor their favorite drivers at the International Motorsports Hall of Fame and Museum.

Country ham and grits, fried catfish and collards, smoked pork slathered in a tangy sauce-you'll find all the classics of traditional Southern cuisine in Birmingham's high-end eateries and humble barbecue joints. The Five Points South district near our Birmingham hotels is dense with antique stores and bohemian boutiques catering to students at the nearby University of Alabama Birmingham. Bars and clubs in Five Points South fill with high-energy University students, while the WorkPlay entertainment complex draws crowds from across the state for concerts by national rock favorites on the small stage.

Book a stay at our Holiday Inn® Birmingham hotels to cheer on your favorite driver at the Talladega Superspeedway. Watch the NASCAR Sprint Cup series in October, or the Nationwide Series in April.

Four (4) stars **** for an Airport Hotel. No issues, less than ten (10) minutes from the airport, that's a plus. [Less]
Questionable location but good value
By gb170
This hotel is not in an attractive location but it is close to the airport and a good value for the price. Looking out of the windows the view is of run down buildings. It is also somewhat noisy due [More] to the proximity of the highway but, around 11 PM, the noise diminishes and it becomes reasonably quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. When we asked about getting a cup of coffee after the in lobby carafes were emptied, they made us a fresh pot. Southern hospitality at its best. The only problem I had was with the Business Center. There were two PCs available but one would not allow me to view and print my boarding passes due to "parental control". [Less]
Friendly and welcoming environment.
