Featured Mobile Hotels

Stay in our hotels in Mobile, the oldest city in Alabama, to explore its mix of French, Spanish, and antebellum cultures. The first Mardi Gras celebration on U.S. soil was held in 1703 on these streets, now lined with centuries-old shade trees and blooming azaleas.

Our Mobile hotels are close to the Mobile Bay waterfront, anchored by Fort Condé, a faithfully re-created 18th-century line of defense. Fanning out from the fort are historic districts with hundreds of immaculate old homes and lush public squares. The Mobile Carnival Museum, packed with royal robes and colorful Mardi Gras costumes, is housed in the historic Bernstein-Bush mansion downtown. Kids love exploring the metal decks and aircraft cockpits of the World War II battleship USS Alabama, now residing in the placid waters of Mobile Bay. Our hotels in Mobile are also near Langan Park, 700 acres bursting with azalea, rhododendron, and Japanese maples. Inside the park is the Mobile Museum of Art, a treasure trove of fine and decorative arts from around the world.

Our Mobile hotels are convenient to the restaurant and pub scene on the waterfront and adjacent districts. Look for variations on fresh Gulf Coast seafood-raw oysters, seafood gumbo, and crab cakes. The bar scene emphasizes microbrews from Mobile brewers and live music by popular local groups. Check out the events calendar at the lavish Saenger Theatre, a vintage Roaring Twenties performance hall that's now home to the Mobile Symphony.

Book one of our Holiday Inn® Mobile hotels in November, when Carnival season begins, or in March and April to see antebellum homes framed by a riot of colorful azaleas. Any time is great for exploring the diverse heritage of this genteel waterfront city.

We stay here every year for Mardi Gras.
By Tysonand Moe
Everything was great except that housekeeping was knocking on and trying to open our room door at 8:30 am the morning after a Mardi Gras ball even though the check-out time was 12 noon. We had not [More] put the "do not disturb" sign out, but seriously, 8:30 am, after a ball-or ANY morning at 8:30 am????? Housekeeping then returned at 9:30 knocking on the door again. I told housekeeping it was too early to be knocking on guests' doors and she told me she was just doing her job. We finally just ckecked out and left. [Less]
