This was exactly what I needed for a last minute overnight stay for business. There shops, a mall and plenty of restaurants to choose from. [Less]
Great Staff

On one of my stays at this hotel my air-conditioner stopped working. Abraham was quick to bring me a key to the room across the hall so I could sleep in that room but leave everything in the first [More] room so I did not have to pack everything up. When I came back from work the next day (Sunday) Abraham had fixed the unit in my room so I did not have to pack up and move. What service!! [Less]

Nice Staff and Good Location
By Chiacha
We recently stayed 4 nights at Holiday Inn Washington-Captial for our family vacation. The hotel is located only 1 1/2 blocks from the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum and both entrances to the [More] L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station. Needless to say that it is very easy to get around town from this hotel. The hotel was fairly full with guests but yet the rooms were very quiet. The staff in the hotels were very helpful and courteous. The rooms were very clean as well. We had a very pleasant stay. There are two minor issues that put a little damper to our stay. First of all, there were no microwaves in standard rooms, only in suites, as we were explained. There are, however, 2 microwaves in the lobby for general use. We often like to heat up water for a cup of tea or heat up leftovers. it would have been much more convenient to have one in the room. With the cheap prices of microwaves these days, there should be no excuses for only limiting microwaves to more expensive suites. The insufficient hot water for shower in the hotel was another issue. No matter the time of the day when we took shower, we had to let the water run for a long time before the water temperature reached high enough for a decent shower. There were times that we ran out of hot water in the middle of showers and ended up having to quickly finish up. Maybe the water heater capacity could not keep up with the number of guests. However, we experienced it at various different times (6 am, 8 am, 4 pm, and 9 pm) though out the day. Overall, it was still a pretty good stay for us. The convenience of getting to a metro station, the Smithsonians, and the Mall really made our vacation a memorable one. [Less]
