Very pleasant stay.
I was in town for my cousin's wedding and this was a great place for our extended family to stay. The hotel provided shuttle service to the wedding and reception - a nice touch. It is located in
downtown Baton Rouge, an easy walk to many museums, restaurants, and shops.
The property seems to be recently opened in an older building. Everything looks brand new. The room and bathroom were well-appointed and nicely decorated. The bed and pillows were great, very comfortable. Some may consider the room on the small side, but I think the price reflects that. It is quite a bit less expensive than other downtown hotels, but every bit as nice. I used the exercise room during our stay and it was well-equipped and had a TV, water cooler, and towels.
I did have a few minor issues. First, there's no swimming pool. Second, our room was on the first floor right off the lobby and was not as quiet as I would have liked at times. Also, they emptied the dumpster at 6:30 a.m. somewhere very nearby and woke me up. So, I would ask for a room upstairs next time if I go back. Next, the breakfast was not really fresh. There were hot food choices, but they were packages foods that had been warmed. There were a number of foods to choose from and I don't consider this a big deal, but I have stayed places in the same price range that fresh hot food at breakfast. [Less]
