(4.3 / 5) of 7343 reviews
The hotel is well-located in the business district, an easy walk to the French Quarter and away from the late-night noise of Bourbon Street. Great access to the Garden and Warehouse Districts by the [More] St Charles streetcar which passes right in front of the hotel. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful and the room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was of high quality, had lots of choices, including made to order omelets. Hotel will be our first choice on our next visit to New Orleans. [Less]
Excellent Room and Staff; walls a little thin
By DoctorKJ
Our experience at the Intercontinental was generally very positive. The room was well appointed and comfortable. I also enjoyed using the fitness center on the top floor. The staff was helpful and [More] knowledgable, referring me to a fine French pastry shop in the French Quarter. The only significant downside was the fact that the walls were a little too thin, a problem we find with many hotels. There was evidently a young family with a baby right next door, and the baby woke me up (despite ear plugs) around 5 AM on Sunday morning. We also heard noise from the hallway late at night. If we return to N.O. and stay at the Intercontinental, I would probably ask for a "quiet situtaion" if possible, away from neighbors likely to make noise. [Less]
Great Hotel

The staff is fabulous and very helpful. Their recommendations for eating were all very good and our favorite was Cafe on the Square--less than 2 blocks from the hotel. [Less]
Nice staff and hotel
By FC85
I had a great stay as the hotel was in a perfect location. The first night they put us in a king size bed which we didn't realize until we got in the room. I booked a double bed. They were not able [More] to accommodate the double beds the first night, but did so the very next morning. Staff was kind and helpful in recommending places to go and see. I would definitely stay here again or recommend it to others. [Less]
Great Stay
By Zimm44
We went to New Orleans to get married and everyone from the front desk to the concierge was very helpful, both even sent us champagne twice. We did have to wait a while to check in and then they said [More] that several of the king rooms were being renovated so we had a handicapped room instead. The only negativething I can remember was that I had to ask for a fan for the room two days in a row. Overall the location & the staff were perfect. We would stay here again. [Less]
A real Gem! Right at the head of Bourbon Street
By Michael122
I am a Platinum Elite member so I stay at many different IHG properties, and this one really exceeded my expectations. The staff were friendly and attentive. The amenities were great...Although I [More] didn't use the roof top pool, I looked at it and it has a great view. The fitness center was larger and had more equipment than many of the other properties I have stayed at. The business center is only accessible by room key so your work stays private. There are 4 computers in the business center. There are ample, quick elevators. There is an oyster/seafood restaurant and bar on site. The bar has the largest selection of Bourbons in New Orleans! The room was clean and spacious. The mattress was quite comfortable, however the pillows were simply foam and not very comfortable, so I would suggest bringing your own. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. [Less]

Enjoyable experience--will return and will recommend
By Katethegardener
Enjoyed a week long stay and found it very pleasant and enjoyable. Location was very convenient. The breakfast was appreciated as was the 3 social evenings per week. We met a number of very nice [More] people from various parts of the USA as well as from other countries. Staff were very pleasant and helpful on all occasions. Will definitely consider staying at this hotel again if we return to New Orleans and would recommend it to our friends. [Less]
