Clean and convenient
By Travelpro503
Great location. Room and common areas were clean and employees were friendly and responsive. Business center was great. The fitness center was out of order due to construction. Free parking in a [More] large, well-lit lot. Breakfast was typical of a hotel buffet - lots of choices for a sugar load or a high-fat start to the day. Options for the rest of us included fruit, which was fresh, and boiled eggs, which were oddly rubbery but tasted ok. Overall a nice hotel and I would stay here again. [Less]
Convenient, comfortable
The location is great. Close enough to the many restaurants on 23rd to allow one to walk to them. [Less]

Perfect port in a storm

Room was immaculate, bed was so comfortable, temperature stayed comfortable with fan kicking in and out. More important, I was en route to another hotel near the end of a business trip when I had a [More] car accident. I was able to get my car into the Holiday Inn parking area. I was dazed from the accident. Robert J, the shuttle driver, saw that I wasn't functioning well and suggested I check in at the hotel while waiting for help to arrive to make the car drivablle. He expedited the AAA type help, walked me to check-in, brought my numerous bags in. When my car was finally in condition to drive and i moved it to the far lot, he even assured I was safe at that late time of night. I will always be so grateful. All staff at the hotel were exceptionally kind and understanding, and the room was just what I needed to help recover. Thank you, Holiday Inn! [Less]
Drunks in the Hallway!
By BodyDouble
For an older property near the airport, this location is adequate for brief stays. I would not want to have an extended stay here as the neighborhood is a poorly lit and very commercial area with [More] little to no access to local restaurants or conveniences. [Less]
Convenient to airport
By SoundStyle
This location was close to the airport. Unfortunately it is also close to a freight train / railroad track. So if you're on the side of the hotel closest to the tracks it can be quite loud. The [More] location is a little tricky to get to if you're not used to the area. Other than that, it was a decent stay. [Less]
Comfortable and Clean

I was in Portland, OR for the first time for a business/leisure activity. I told the front desk when I walked in that this was my first time in Portland and they were very accommodating by showing me [More] a map of the area and giving me a once-over for restaurants in downtown Portland. I felt safe in the area bc guests are required to use their room key to go up in floors in the elevator. Any hotel staff I encountered was nice and polite and always asked how my stay was going. Everyone was friendly. I do have to say one thing about their valet parking. When I first arrived, they said I could use the hotel phone to ask them to get my car ready, but when I rang, no one answered. I had to go down to the front desk to ask. When I mentioned this to the valet he apologized, and said he didn't have the phone on him. I'm not sure what the point of being able to call from my hotel room is if the valets don't carry the phone with them. Otherwise, the hotel room is clean, large and there is a microwave and refrigerator in the queen bed rooms. It was also very quiet, but I stayed in the beginning to the middle of the week. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance, and public transportation will take you anywhere in downtown Portland. [Less]

Excellent Hotel!

We have stayed at other Crowne Plaza hotels and this Portland-Downtown location did not disappoint. As soon as you walk into the lobby you feel as if you are in a 4 star hotel. All of the common [More] areas are nicely decorated. We ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was wonderful. The room was comfortable and clean. We love the bed for a great night's sleep! Little touches such as the aroma therapy kit to help you relax to the Keurig coffee maker and the great TV channel selection were great. There was a fitness center and a saltwater pool that I had hoped to use. They both looked inviting. The staff was wonderful and very friendly. They helped us feel at home. You can't go wrong with a stay at this hotel! [Less]
