We stayed here in early January 2016. The hotel is on a hill overlooking Wilkes Barre, nice view from the room. Check-in was efficient; lobby was nice and cozy with a fireplace. Only complaint was
that the water tank was empty, we mentioned it to the receptionist, and she just shrugged and said oh well, that's how it is at this time of the day. She did not arrange to have the water refilled.
The swimming pool's ventilation system seemed to have been not functioning for a while. Condensation on the windows, walls and ceiling was lots and had damaged some walls and rusted away metal frame of the equipment there.
The room is smaller than other Holiday Inn Express we have stayed, but the beds were super comfortable so we all had a good night of sleep. Bathroom ventilation system seemed to be also not functioning well, steam was not dissipating from the room for a long time.
Breakfast was great, with lots of choices. The gentleman responsible for the breakfast area was very efficient and helpful (I think his name is Barry).
Overall, it is not bad, but we would recommend management to seriously fixing that pool vent system. [Less]
