Stay at our Holiday Inn® Chattanooga hotels and discover a city beloved by history buffs and art lovers alike. Dine on hickory-smoked ribs in one of the city's celebrated barbecue joints or sample contemporary fusion cuisine in the Bluff View Art District.

The "Chattanooga Choo Choo" of musical lore rolls on this southeast Tennessee city. Our Chattanooga hotels lie near a vintage collection of coal- and steam-powered locomotives at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum. Images of the nation's railroading days share space with contemporary views and abstract art glass at the Hunter Museum of American Art, set on a dramatic bluff overlooking the Tennessee River. Our hotels in Chattanooga are close to the Tennessee Aquarium, where the resident creatures range from giant catfish to toothy sharks, playful otters and flitting butterflies.

Kick back on the Southern Belle Riverboat, a Tennessee River cruise that paddles unhurriedly past downtown Chattanooga's gleaming business district and the Appalachian Mountains beyond. From our hotels in Chattanooga you can ride to the top of Lookout Mountain via the Incline Railway, the world's steepest passenger train, before entering the mouth of a cave to view Ruby Falls, tucked some 1,100 feet into the mountain. Man-made treasures attract visitors to the Bluff View Art District, where you can buy locally made artworks in acrylic, blown glass, woven fiber and stone. Dine in one of the casual bistros and stylish restaurants atop the bluff, overlooking the glittering Tennessee River.

Book a room in our Holiday Inn hotels in Chattanooga in spring, when redbuds and pale pink rhododendrons burst into color in the Appalachian hills. In summer, the 9-day Riverbend Festival fills the streets with live music from five stages along the Tennessee River.

Leaves something to be desired
By Watchful1
This is our fifth stay here - and we still won't learn. This is the second stay when one of the two elevators in this 7-story hotel was out of order - for the entire four days! (At Cedar Bluff [More] Knoxville they got the out-of-service elevator, one of two, fixed promptly on a Sunday, so it can be done!). TV did not work; two calls to Guest Services ended up with a building maintenance man arriving after two hours. He set ours to reprogram which he said would take 20 minutes. Twenty five minutes later he arrived with a replacement TV that did work. Second morning the housekeeper left no coffee cups, no coffee, no plastic cups, which we didn't discover until evening and had to go to the front desk just to get cups. Traffic on Shallowford Road frequently means 15-30 minutes stuck in traffic to get access to hotel, and leaving may take 10-15 minutes. Hotel seriously needs to purchase property for an alternate access. [Less]
