Your receptionist people need a total training on your system. They have no experience and understanding of your job and needed qualities of their job.

I stayed here during a conference visit--third time at this hotel. Staff is extremely service-oriented and all small issues (from room service miscommunications to slow wifi) were dealt with promptly. They gave me a network cable and free high-speed internet login when the wifi signal did not reach my room.
Watch out for the high-priced room service and laundry--but they did get my clothes clean the same day.
P.S. The other conference attendees stayed in a local hotel downtown and were very dissatisfied with their rooms--the Holiday Inn, other than a few strange idiosyncrasies, is definitely up to the Western standards.
