This is not my first and I am sure not the last stay in this hotel. I suggest to these who stay one time to stay for other couple of nights and be tolerant and accept the "destiny":
- that the building is not young, but I can ensure you that even the bad smell from the toilet can vanish,
- that you are not smoker and there are two ashtrays at the hotel entrance and often you need to enter the hotel through a "cloud"
- that both shower gels are running out in the same time when you rush for an important meeting,
- your instant coffee is not filled up,
- your kettle is dirty and after you need to prove that is not working
A good advice if you have any issue, visit the lovely people from the reception, you would be surprised. For my first time staying in this hotel happened that this time I got Antonia's written apologies and my issues solved!
I encourage everybody to "complain" when serious issues are happening and write a review after your stay. Why I am saying all? Because after more than 3 years in this hotel I can see changes a more customer friendly attitude.
Keep continue on this way my favorite hotel

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by businesstraveler2406 Very poor experience
Had a very poor experience. Despite being a Spire Elite member, didn't feel welcome at the hotel at all. The Internet didn't work for 1 day during the stay. There is no air-conditioning in the room and the fan provided was not very powerful. The quality of bed was very poor (one of the worst sleep experiences at any IHG property that I've had).
I had requested for an early-checkin and the staff at the reception refused to entertain any requests before 3PM. I was willing to pay for an additional night to get a room (after a 9 hour transatlantic flight) and they weren't sympathetic at all. Kept repeating the 3 PM check-in deadline.
The room wasn't cleaned and the linen's weren't changed for a day and I had to call repeatedly to get it done.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Susek Alles in Allem gut

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kateshash Great budget place in Berlin
The stay at Holiday Inn was pleasant. The room service was really nice. The only problem I faced was that if there are two people in one room they pay extra money for a person. I understand the reason for that, but it will be better to know the real price on the stage of searching for places to stay.
However, it was worth it

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by OpaAlex Good Value
I was hoping for more but overall the value of the room was good. The carpeting in the hallways were worn and dirty - disappointing, and the lack of air conditioning - none, during the warm days we were there made it hard to sleep and relax in our room. The room was clean and the beds comfortable, and the staff very helpful.

Our experience at the Holiiday Inn Berlin Mitte was good. We found it very good value for money and well located for sight-seeing. The cafe/restaurant on the corner was great for snacks and meals (Turkish style!) but also suited our taste very well. We also ate in the hotel and found the food there good. The pub next door was a little loud at times but it didn't disturb our sleep as we were pretty exhausted at the end of each day! The staff were generally very helpful and professional and sought to make our lives as easy and pleasant as possible. They helped with internet access and also sundry personal requests. My son was very happy to find a gym on the 6th floor. Only drawbacks: no air-conditioning; and no pool. Other caveat: Remember that when you book you don't necessarily pay for all or part of your stay, but you pay on arrival. I asked the girl on the desk whether I had paid already and she said 'yes'- I think there may have been a slight misunderstanding as I had booked ages ahead and hadn't paid so my account was debited on arrival which I didn't realise until I returned home.
