over all I would recommend this hotel the only thing I did not like was how far I had to walk to my room from the elevator I really wish they had another elevator at the other end of the hotel and luggage carts there are only 2 for the whole hotel??? they need more

To the hotel manager:
Why is this hotel still so unclean after all of the reviews that complain about the bad smell and general dirty condition of the halls and rooms?
Go to the dollar store, buy some pine-sol....re-train the cleaning staff...and clean this hotel up!!!! I can't believe Holiday Inn has it's name on this hotel. I based my overall experience rating on the filthy condition that this hotel is in.
We asked for a quiet room, but got a room next to the ice maker, which was very loud. We were moved to a suite, which was very quiet, but very dirty. The bathroom smelled like urine and the grout on the floor was yellowed from not being cleaned....for along time. The hall leading to our room was filthy, the rug is one of the dirtiest rugs I have ever seen in my entire life. We turned the heat on in the room and it made an incredibly horrible smell...like mold and sewerage mixed into one. We promptly turned it off and remained chilly.
The reception staff was some of the best....but the overall uncleanliness put a damper on our two day stay. I couldn't wait to get out of there, I didn't sleep well, I was so afraid of getting sick from the smells. We stay at many Holiday Inns and this one was unique, to say the least. We have paid much less for a room and gotten MUCH better in the past. The bed was comfortable, but that's about it.
We would have left, but there were no other options for rooms.
Back to the general manager:
Why is this place still so unclean, when you acknowledge in several reviews that you are aware of the problem?

Closest IHG property to Devens MA, classic ski lodge like interior surrounded by the woods in a quiet neighborhood. Pretty and spacious, the rooms are clean but are old so the room HVAC can only be set as a heater or an air conditioner by the maintenance staff, it can't be either which is a bit annoying in the Fall when Temps swing wildly either way.

I arrived tired and late, check in was fine but my room felt like it was miles away from elevator. My key card didn't work adn there was a loud party in a room near mine. The hotel didn't honor my request to change rooms. They sent someone to open my room adn gave me a free breakfast. The breakfast was ok, the upholstery in the restaurant was cracked, service fine but an old hotel that seems too big to be able to feel comfortable.

Great property but in poor repair. Bathrooms need updating. Not very clean. Need to improve housekeeping and maintenance.

Overall slept well for day long meeting. Bar food was decent. Opening night of Patriots Game and the bar unfortunately did not splurge on decent size TV's. Only 4 or so in the whole restaurant/bar and they are SMALL! That would be my first upgrade if it were my bar. Every attendee that showed up mentioned it.
