The room was very clean and comfortable. All in all it was great value for money. We are looking forward to another stay in a Holiday Inn very soon. May 26, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A well located good standard hotel A good Business Hotel with all you expect of a Holiday Inn. Rooms are good but the there is no pool/spa area so this hotel is not ideal fro pleasure if that is what you want. Close to the Center of town and easy access to motorways. Traffic can be a little heavy on the M32 in the morning and early evening. May 24, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Short stay, met all my needs comfortably. Just returned from a one-night stay at Holiday Inn Bristol City Centre - my first time at this location. Excellent location, great for many different types of restaurants, bars, amenities & shopping. If arriving by train it's about 15 minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads, or a short taxi ride. Very pleasant and quick check-in (on second floor), greeted as an ihg gold member, allocated the room type I prefer (high floor for extra quiet). Room itself was spotlessly clean, lovely bathroom with nice bath and shower facilities. Nice selection of teas and coffees. Good sized TV, perfect for relaxing in bed. Plenty of power outlets to plug in devices, and in accessible locations too (seems obvious but not always the case!). Very nice bar/restaurant - didn't actually sample the food but the drinks service was very good, let's just say I enjoyed taking advantage of the promotion on house spirits! ;-) My stay was only one night so didn't get chance to utilise all the facilities, such as gym etc, but I honestly can't fault this hotel. I'm completely satisfied with the value for money it provided. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it and it'll be my only choice the next time I am in Bristol. Thank you to all the staff that made my short stay so pleasant. May 15, 2016

Got a little lost looking for reception on check in and the view to the rear of the hotel was not good owing to the fly tipping of rubbish that was there for three days and probably still there. That was the only downside so recommend front of hotel view which looks over the City Centre. The food and restaurant service was excellent. Nice hotel for business or leisure and congrats to the staff for their friendly attitude and always on hand to help. Perhaps a little more attentive to the offer of points or complimentary drink may assist with greeting your loyal customers as IHG members. Gym facilities are modern and all equipment was in a serviceable state. Really enjoyed the ease of Gym availability and the fact the facilities are for residents only. May 15, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Will use again (it was my first at this property as I booked the wrong hot I had some 'use them or lose them' IHG hotel points so booked at this hotel whilst on a trip to see family in the Bristol/Somerset area (I was confused and actually thought I was booking at a different hotel... I mixed up the Bristol street names.... my bad!). I'm a disabled walking stick user who is unable to lift/carry so I called the hotel before I booked (online) to make sure that they have a concierge or someone else who can help with bags. Spoke on the phone with a very helpful chap called Andre, told him about my disability and that I expected to arrive c. midnight, and he assured me that someone would be able to help me with my luggage when I arrived. Ended up being seriously delayed on the evening that I was meant to arrive, and phoned the hotel just after midnight (12.19am Saturday 30th April) to advise them that I would now be arriving at approximately 2.00am-2.30am. I believe that the hotel person who answered the phone at this time identified himself as 'James' (I may be recalling this name incorrectly, but I don't think I am - if it helps, to my ear he had a local accent). I then double checked the directions to the hotel and asked 'James' where I should temporarily park for someone to help me with my bags (before I parked in the NCP next door)..... .... and then 'James' told me that 'the hotel NEVER helps customers with their bags' !! I related to James my previous conversation with Andre, and that I have a disability, and after two or three explanations 'James' then told me that someone would be able to help me with my bags. I was now very worried that there might be an issue re: someone being available to help me with my luggage. I finally arrived at the hotel and realised that there is NO place to pull over at the front of the hotel to offload luggage, so I stopped at the gate of the NCP car park and called the hotel again.... Very nice and helpful chap called Marcus answered the phone this time, gave me clear directions/options as to where to park, and assured me that someone would help me with my luggage (he couldn't do enough to help - excellent!). Got checked in, Marcus helped me with my luggage, sorted out the breakfast card, and had an excellent stay. Room service breakfast was punctual and excellent. Another very helpful gentleman (may have been Tom from Hungary - whoever you are.... sorry, I forgot to write your name down) helped me with my luggage and the checking out process (where I met the very helpful Andre face-to-face). Other than the service blip with 'James' (the midnight telephone call when I was told that there wouldn't be any help with my luggage - very scary news for disabled people!), the service was not just excellent, but far exceeded my expectations for this price/level of hotel (I've averaged over 100 nights/year in hotels over the last 20 years as I travel extensively for work, so I like to think that I'm reasonably knowledgeable about the major hotel chains). Dear hotel manager, please pass on my thanks to: Andre, Marcus, Tom (from Hungary, hope I have the name correct), and your Room Service lady. Note 1/2: there IS free internet, but it is considerably slower than the paid-for option of 'fast internet' (eg the free internet is fast enough for a Skype Voice call, but not fast enough for a Skype Video call). Note 2/2: the bathroom is very nice, but it is a little bit of a struggle to get into the bath, because of both the floorplan of the bathroom, and the fact that there is a glass 'spray guard' for the shower Room Tip: Top floor rooms have HDMI ports for the television (didn't test out) and a balcony May 3, 2016
