Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Mixed Feelings The hotel is near to the motorway, and about 15 mins into Cambridge. You can get a bus into Cambridge the stop is only 5 mins walk from the hotel and the drivers are helpful. It is a 25 min walk down into a small village with a few nice pubs where you can get a nice meal the Rose and Crown was very friendly but you need to book if you want to eat as it gets very busy. We had a executive room which had a mini bar but we would of rather had it empty for our own use, I think it would be better if you were asked prior to your stay if you want a stocked mini bar. I dont think I would pay for an executive room again as I don't think the difference is worth it. The so called luxury toiletries included a shoe shine and sewing kit which I could of done without!! We didn't get slippers and I don't really see why I should point this out if it is standard, the toilet didn't flush very well, waiting around 20 mins for it to refill, I reported this on check out, if we would of reported it after a few hours of arrival we would of had maintenance in the room or had to move room, both being a bind. Some of the staff in the restaurant at breakfast were quite rude, if you were stood at the coffee machine one waitress would push past you and not walk around, the lady cooking the eggs, stood there cooking them for about 20 mins what is the point of having an egg station if they are not cooked to your liking, one man asked if she did omlettes etc and she said no she has enough to do but he could order one, which I don't think he heard and walked away. Some people were looking around for plates etc and the staff wouldn't notice! The staff at the leisure facilities were helpful and the facilites were nice to use. The bar man was also nice and chatty some of the reception staff were also a bit off but others were ok. You got the overall feeling that staff morale was low. I don't think I would use this Holiday Inn again and can say they are not all like this we have usually found staff very friendly and made your stay. 18. August 2014
Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by Good Swimming and Food Stayed with my young son after visiting IWM Duxford, which the hotel is very convenient for. Pool was child friendly, as was the restaurant, so we both had a good swim and dinner. Only problem with sleep was a door gap at the bottom of the door that let in too much light from the corridor, but beds very comfortable. 14. August 2014
Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by Consistent Standard We have stayed in many Holiday Inns and this is certainaly one of the best. It is in a pleasant semi rural setting on the outskirts of Cambridge but with good transport links to the centre. The room was clean and comfortable. The facilities in the hotel were excellent. The service was of the high standard we have come to expect of all Holiday Inns. The waitresses deserve a particular mention being efficient but at the same time chatty and showing a genuine interest in us. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone contemplating a visit to Cambridge. 13. August 2014

Outstanding Breakfast choice. Cambridge seems not to have enough 4-star hotels, as the rates are always quite high. 11. August 2014
Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Disappointing Weekend Stayed two nights to attend a wedding locally. The staff were great, attentive and friendly, however the food left a lot to be desired, as it appeared to be commercially produced, not freshly prepared. Not what we expected at these prices. Four star prices, two star quality. The room was a little tired, and the fridge did not work. 10. August 2014

Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Holiday Inn The overall feel of the Holiday Inn was good. The rooms felt a little dated and could do with some modernising but only from an esthetic point of view. The choice of TV channels could have been better and although it is not any fault of the Holiday Inn I really struggled to get any mobile reception within the hotel (Vodafone). The staff were friendly and helpful but breakfast did feel a little chaotic with too many staff on hand. 4. August 2014
Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Comfortable and good people working at Holiday Inn I have stayed at the Cambridge HI every week since Jan 2014. The staff are very good, but sometimes the welcome and room service is not what you would like to expect. Sometimes small details are forgotten such as register points for IHG, Paper, Alarm Calls not happening when requested. 24hour items on menu are not available because the Chef has gone home! The rooms could also do with a refresh. Many of them look a little tired around the edges. The menu has pretty much stayed the same in this time as well. Having said that overall it is a pleasant experience. 4. August 2014
