In addition to what I wrote in the "possibilities for improvements" I could add that Internet is working bad on the end of the building (room 151). Connection is unstable.
Also it would be nice to have underfloor heating in bathroom.
And as I said - I am a bit disappointed not being recognized as platinum member in any way, but in general it was average stay. Not good, not bad - just as it should be.
And to mention again - personnel in breakfast area is very nice and gives the positive attitude from the very beginning of the day.
This hotel is located nicely to avoid all the visitors of Amsterdam, who are interested in legal "drugs". There is a nice walking area both on the beach and national park which impressed me a lot.

This is the FIRST time I have ever "non-recommended" a hotel!
Although the hotel "itself" was phenomenal, I had other issues I feel were not responded to appropriately. First, I had a great room, very comfortbale, spacious, the bed was extremely comfortable and the hotel was on the "water"...so, good view. The restaurant/bar staff was also great...very personable.
However, the hotel is out in the "middle of nowhere". There is no shuttle service to the hotel so you must rely on public transportation to get you there...if you do not drive your own vehicle. I arrived by train to Amsterdam and was searching for transportation to the hotel. I emailed the hotel reception on Tuesday (I arrived on friday) asking for the best options to arrive by public transportation (train, taxi, shuttle, etc.). I never heard back from hotel reception upon my arrival to Amsterdam so I elected to take the cab. As I am on the way to the hotel in the cab, I receive an email from reception (a full three days after the initial email). This in and of itself is unacceptable...that they took three days to respond. The email stated they had a taxi service which would have cost 42euro...which would be reasonable. I ended up paying 83euro for the cab ride from Amsterdam Centraal to the hotel (29Km or 18 miles). Had the hotel responded in a timely manner, I would have saved 1/2 a taxi fare.
When I discussed with hotel staff upon check-in, they basically blew it off as no big deal and just said I am sorry. No sincere concern for their lack of responsiveness and not desire to overtly try to correct the error. There were additional annoyances about the staff and charges on my check-out bill which were automatically charged to the account without have informaiton. I.e., they charged me for parking while I was there even though I did not have a car...they took the charge off upon me notifying them but none the less...it was an automatic charge.
It is unfortunate that such a nice hotel displays such lack of concern about their customers concerns. Unfortunately, I would not reccommend this hotel because I do not think guest should be treated as such and I will probably never return here.
It is the hotel's responsibility to correct any error or injustice caused by THEIR negligence. They did neither correct it nor showed any concern to "fix" it.
EXTREMELY disappointed !!
