Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed Based on our previous experience with this hotel corporation, we expected the room to meet the needs of my husband who is handicapped. The only two features that were handicap friendly were the roll-in shower and grab bars. The overall size of the room and bathroom was too small for adequate handicap accessibility. There was not enough counter space in the bathroom. There was simply not enough space in the room for suitcases (2) and a wheel chair. The lighting was poor and the internet difficult to access. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Top Quality Service Makes The Difference I missed my late evening flight from JFK on the Thursday before the Memorial Day weekend. Most of the area hotels were fully booked - the JFK Holiday Inn had a room available and I was happy to find a plce to stay. I arrived at the hotel tired and very grumpy. The first person that came in contact with at the front desk greeted me with a smile and excellent customer service skills. She had me headed to my room very quickly and in a much better mood. I found the room very neat and clean with nice furnishing and very thoughtful amenities (like a number of easy to access electric outlets). I went to the Hotel Restaurant for dinner and was greeted by another very friendly and professional staff member. My dinner selection was served very quickly and exactly to order. I checked out very early the next morning to catch another flight and the staff member at the front counter was just as friendly, courteous and professional. I may never find myself in this area needing a hotel again - but if I do, you can bet I will book the JFK Holiday Inn. May 26, 2015

However the lobby was very crowded when I arrived and the location is not very appealing. Despite of this, it is a great option for a one night stay before leaving by plane. May 17, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent location with great staff - but bring ear plugs ! This is a 5 minute drive from JFK and offers good value in the area relative to other options. Rooms are recently refurbished and while a bit small are perfectly functional. The staff make this property exceptional, facilitating everything from early check ins to NYC trips with humor and a genuine desire to help. Kay Ann at the front desk was exemplary, and Louis the GM has set a personal example for outstanding customer service. One of the structural issues is that the rooms facing JFK are quite noisy as the rooms are not well insulated/sound-proofed and you can hear aircraft and traffic noise which can be a real issue; ear plugs may help. Also the onsite restaurant had a surly lady taking orders and delivering food, which stood out as a rare blemish in a hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. May 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Never again JFK Holiday Inn. We were given a room on the first floor next to some guest rooms that were used by hotel employees as break rooms, or work-spaces. We couldn't get any sleep due to people/hotel employees opening and closing doors all night. They would let the doors slam closed on the dead bolts. front desk staff was no help. Hotel was full. No other rooms available. We also had other problems during our stay. May 14, 2015
