New menu is good, was getting a bit bored with the previous.
Room refurbishment has improved things.
As ever the staff are great!

My wife and I checked into our recently refurbished room and were impressed by the look and feel of the decor. The room and immediate areas did however smell a little damp, as there were works taking place in the corridor outside we assumed that was the cause.
We then noticed the cracked sink and damp wall with peeling wallpaper, tired after our journey we went to bed, the next morning after a decent nights sleep, we tried to shower; the on off knob in the shower came off in our hand.!
Whilst my wife stayed in our room, I spoke to the very helpful gentleman at reception, He immediately called the Manager Matthew who came with me to the room to see the problems for himself.
There was no question that he wouldn't change the room for us and he came to find us while we ate breakfast to say that he had not only changed our room but had upgraded us, this was most welcome.
The only criticism we had after that, despite the numerous parties and weddings taking place creating a lot of smokers just outside the most impressive entrance, was the too small double bed, not the hotels fault exactly, just not what we are used to sleeping on.
All the staff were very courteous Matthew particularly obviously cares about his clients and there comforts, we will be staying here again as we have friends in nearby Aberford. Its a shame the standard of maintenance doesn't match the intention.
