Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Stay The hotel is under renovations, so everything is new which was a nice surprise. The construction was not too early in the morning. The reason for me choosing a Holiday Inn Express was the darkness of the room which was not entirely dark, that was disappointing, the new curtains let in a lot of light from the top in the morning; and the other reason was the complimentary breakfast which we had to pay, food was fair. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel with great views and comfrotable We had a good comfortable stay at this hotel despite it being a bit of a building site downstairs and noisy at times. Extent of refurbishment not made clear when booked. Room was clean, well-equipped, with a good bed. The wifi was fine and the bar and restaurant was pleasant, but not cheap. Bit disappointed that our stay (including breakfast) only offered the Full American breakfast on the menu (or $12.95 could be put towards other things, but didn't quite cover what we wanted, so we had to pay more than we expected for a simple breakfast that we thought was inclusive. Weekend breakfast was excellent because our booking gave us an alll inclusive breakfast buffet - would be better if this happened every day, or at least if the breakfast included whatever you wanted - like the weekend! Traffic and aircraft can be noisy outside, but not entirely the hotel's fault (seeps in therough the airc-onditioning rather than windows) and not too bad. Gym and pool looked good, but didn't use. Costs $9 a night to park the car - and was needed. Overall a good stay and will be even better when the work is completed. February 4, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stay before a Cruise This hotel is currently under renovation. It is a little noisy in the morning hours after 8 am. However, the room is clean, staff is friendly, and the price was good for me to leave my car for 8 days. the price includes breakfast for 2 and shuttle to the cruise port back and forth. Can't beat that. I am picky with where I lay my head. Great room, clean, and price good. I highly recommend this hotel and plan to stay there when I get off the cruise. February 4, 2016

I arrived at 11 pm...with a 5 am wake up call only to discover the hotel in the midst of massive reconstruction. They even had to provide ear plugs as you checked in! This was NOT mentioned online when I reserved. To add insult, I was told that they were charging $9 for parking. Since I also didn't remember that when I made my reservation, they said it was just 2 weeks ago that they started. The front desk person refused my request to refund that $9 since the hotel was a construction zone and this wasn't a time to start adding new fees. Next, I said that I would simply drop off my car at the Long Beach airport that night. I asked for the complimentary shuttle to drive me back. No luck. The driver left for the night at 10 pm. I'm going back to [different hotel chain that this website forbid me to write]...It might cost a bit more...but its worth it. February 3, 2016
