The lobby is nice, and the front desk staff are friendly, but that's about all the good I can say about this hotel.
The room was very worn and in disrepair, with paint peeling off the walls, and the carpet being gross. The bed was awful, mattress apparently several decades old, creaked with every slight motion, linens may have been washed but appeared extremely worn out. Pillows were terrible. Room is tiny, and I was told that I had been upgraded to a "suite".
Bathroom had not been cleaned very thoroughly.
My recommendation: While this may be one of the cheaper hotels in downtown Miami, this is not a good representation of the Holiday Inn brand. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere else.

Was charged $50 for a "free reward" stay. Can't get anyone to fix it. Whole hotel smells like mold and it was even worse in the room. Made it impossible to sleep.

Ist check in clerks were excellent. Room was ok, but it is a older hotel. Great location near Bay Market and port. Restaurant greeter friendly and excellent. Waiter was on the poor side hope he was having a bad day. Over billed us and we had to complain. Swimming pool was dirty and was used by hotel customers for a smoking area, (This was suppose to be non=smoking hotel)
