I agree with several posters that at check-in we were greeted warmly by the front desk. Our room was not ready but they stored our bags. Upon entering the room, it seemed clean but the carpets are old and appear dirty. We were there 2 nights. After the first night, we went sightseeing for the day. It was very warm and a member of our family was not feeling well. Upon returning to the hotel the keys did not work. We had to go down to get new keys and they seemed confused as to why they did not work for us. Finally opened the door to find at 4:30 in the afternoon our room had not been made up. We had a suite, so our son was on the pull out coach and it was still out, our bed was unmade and the bathroom had not been cleaned. We called and after 1/2 hour someone came to clean, but as a family member was not well, we opted to only take fresh towels. When we checked out and were asked about our stay, they seemed incredulous that we could have had the issues described. No apologies, just a "really". Very poor customer service.

The lobby is nice, and the front desk staff are friendly, but that's about all the good I can say about this hotel.
The room was very worn and in disrepair, with paint peeling off the walls, and the carpet being gross. The bed was awful, mattress apparently several decades old, creaked with every slight motion, linens may have been washed but appeared extremely worn out. Pillows were terrible. Room is tiny, and I was told that I had been upgraded to a "suite".
Bathroom had not been cleaned very thoroughly.
My recommendation: While this may be one of the cheaper hotels in downtown Miami, this is not a good representation of the Holiday Inn brand. Do yourself a favor and spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere else.

Was charged $50 for a "free reward" stay. Can't get anyone to fix it. Whole hotel smells like mold and it was even worse in the room. Made it impossible to sleep.
