This hotel is closing in August for remodeling and re-branding as a different hotel chain. In the mean time, the amenities provided by the hotel have been declining.
I'm a frequent guest of this hotel, with probably 50 nights of stays over the last year and a bit as I travel to NYC once or twice a month on business. I've become accustomed to the level of amenities provided over that time, and was disappointed to discover they no longer provide shampoo/conditioner/lotion in the rooms, a single hand towel and wash cloth. No spare roll of toilet paper, so I hope housekeeping is on top of the (partial) roll that's in there!
Very disappointing to see the degradation in quality; these are small things, but have become expected. What business traveler hauls around shampoo these days?

Asked to replace lightbulbs in bathroom but they didn't so I couldn't see in there.
Asked for laundry service but they didn't take the laundry which left me without a clean shirt for the following day.
They say they have shaving cream if you forget yours but they were out.
They're restaurant is under renovation and the roof bar closes early.
There is no minibar in the rooms for refreshments.
Front desk staff always sound miserable.
Only stay here if you can get a fantastic price and have no expectations for hotel services. Rooms themselves are clean, comfortable and modern.
