Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Not up to Holiday Inn standards The good: The room and bathroom were very clean and beds were comfortable, as expected. The bad: The sink was cracked, the furniture had some scars. The front desk always seemed to be extremely busy. At check-in, I bypassed the line and went to the area for platinum member check-in, as indicated by the sign. An employee came up behind the desk and said, "Did you want something?" Not exactly the greeting I expect at a Holiday Inn. She checked me in without any comment (e.g., no recognition of platinum membership, no offer to give me a bottle of water or anything). Check in was fairly quick and efficient, so I can't complain much--just not up to normal Holiday Inn standards. The ugly: Got ice from the machine on the 3rd floor--there were little black chunks frozen into the ice cubes. Needless to say, I did not use the ice. In the morning, I had a bucket of water with black stuff floating in it. Yuck. Would have mentioned it to the front desk, but there was always a line. My daughter and I went down to the basement to check out the gym, but it looked really sketchy and dimly lit and we did not feel that we would be comfortable working out there. For New York City, it is a very reasonable price, and as I said, the rooms were clean. 24. Februar 2015

Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 by Five Day Stay; NY Not all staff were problematic but Housekeeping was extremely poor. Concierge was horrible and resulted in our missing part of an important meeting when our "reserved car" was not actually reserved. The airport transportation fee was misquoted by the hotel by more than 50%. Next time just use a taxi. 24. Februar 2015

Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 by POOR HOTEL AT BEST I am a Platnium member and travel a lot with IHG. I normally give great reviews about IHG properties I have stayed at but a recent visit to the New York (Manhatten-Holiday INN propery reallt changed my opinion about IHG properties. First, let me start off by saying the staff was GREAT and COURTEOUS. Second, when I checked I asked what type of room I was assigned. They indicated that I was in a Delux room in the new section of the hotel. Upon getting to my room, the overall cleanliness of the room was average at best. It was extremely hot in the room and I was there (14-17 Feb 2015) for three nights. I actually had two rooms that connected. I immediatly turned off the heater and could not find an A/C control. It was so hot in that room that I had to sleep with the window open (it was negative chill factor outside temp) just to get the room cooled off. The next morning I called the front desk and they informed me that it was a single HVAC system in the entire hotel and heat was all I was going to get. The beds were old, the toilets were at least 50+ years old, and you could hear every room in a 10 room radius flush thier toilets all thru the day/night. This was the first BAD experience I have had with IHG in a LONG time. I will NEVER stay at this property again unless things have changes, which I don't see happening. I never got a call from the hotel management and all I was able to get was two box fans for the two rooms--which did not help.. I was VERY DISAPPOINTED to say the least as a Platnium member. This hotel should look at other IHG properties to see where they missed the BOAT on COMFORT and GUEST SATISIFICATION. Dr. W 21. Februar 2015
Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by worth a repeat visit great location, short walk to Central Park, many smaller and quite decent restaurants within half a block of the hotel, close to public transportation, less than half an hour to walk to Fifth Avenue, friendly and helpful front desk and porter staff, and good value for the money -- taken all together, that's what brings my wife and me back to this hotel twice a year for the past several years. Add to that an obvious attempt at constant improvement in facilities -- large flat-screen TVs, room safes, upgradong carpeting in the public areas and you have a combination that is hard to beat. And although we have never used it, the large outdoor swimming pool is an attraction in itself, something unusual to find in the center of Manhattan. 21. Februar 2015
