The desk did their best to help, but they were busy and not much help. I had hoped a Concierge would be there with help to a number of bookings and travel advice. 18. Dezember 2014

Some construction noise from the apartments being built across the road, the staff are friendly, particularly the lady who runs the bar 16. Dezember 2014

Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 by Standing Water in Shower When I first checked in it was too early and my room was not available. I needed to get to work anyway, so the nice people at the counter took my luggage. The door guy was friendly and I went on my way. You have to slide your card in the elevator otherwise it won't work, but nobody told me that. Tuesday night I went to the restaurant and had a decaf coffee and sat with some nice business travelers from Germany. The waitress seemed overworked and mentioned that she would have to travel a "Football field" in order to make the coffee I just ordered. She came back and told me the food item I ordered was no longer offered and didn't know why they didn't just take it off the menu. She also seemed to be bartending. This woman was super busy and nice. Her male coworker seemed spaced out. The next morning I had to take a shower in standing water because the drain didn't work. I didn't have time to tell them about it because I was rushing off to work. The next night the pillows were not very comfortable so I called the operator from my room and he said that housekeeping was not available to bring another one. Wednesday was a huge storm and the restaurant closes at 10am! I did demos in my room and the chair didn't raise up. The operator was rude to me when I asked to see if a second contingency room was cancelled because it looked like my flight was going to leave after all. She thought I was in a different room and was arguing with me. When checking out the woman was very nice. She gave me money off my bill for the shower drain that didn't work. The door guy was MIA which was inconvenient because I have a broken arm and needed help getting my luggage down the stairs. I went out the side garage door and the door guy was chatting with the limousine driver. It's kind of in a dodgy neighborhood. But for San Francisco the prices are pretty reasonable. 15. Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 by Great location to shopping The hotel is across from a major construction site, which will be ongoing for at least another 18 months I would imagine. The balcony was nice, but the sliding glass door did not feel secure and there was no screen door. Overall, the location was great for shopping, but the area walking to/from was a bit concerning with the amount of transients in the area, especially after dark. My biggest complaint was the noise from the construction which went on for all hours, and made it quite impossible to work or sleep. The mattresses were extremely poor quality, but the pillows were great and were labeled firm and soft. The bathroom was quite decent and seemed to be upgraded recently. Overall, for the price in the city, it was not a bad experience. 15. Dezember 2014
Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Fit the bill for business travel I travel several times a month to San Francisco for work at Fox Plaza. This was my first time staying at the Holiday Inn Civic Center, and it was much better than the historic hotel around the corner. The room was spotless, the beds comfy, and I was able to use the TV as a second monitor connected to my laptop. However, the thermostat didn't keep a steady temperature, there was a lot of noise from construction across the street (the hotel provides ear plugs), and the neighborhood that far down Market is sketchy. Due to the lack of restaurants in the area, I had food delivered each night. The hotel front desk staff was great. They provided me with toothpaste after I forgot to pack mine. I also didn't have change for the vending machine, and when I tried to break a $20 so I could buy a soda, the night clerk didn't take my money and gave me two bottles of water for free, saying I should drink those instead. The Internet connection was really quick and free, which are hard to find in downtown SF. It was a good stay and I would stay here again if I can find a week at the same rate. 9. Dezember 2014
