Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Very nice hotel in a not-so-interesting area I found this hotel to be well run and efficient. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. The few services I used were all efficient. The only drawback that I experienced was a slightly dodgy area around the hotel. At 9PM there were no decent restaurants open in the immediate area, the streets are full of people wandering around, homeless, and sleeping all over the place. It wasn't overtly dangerous, but not very welcoming either. With a 10-15 minute walk you can reach other areas of Market Street, as well as the Civic Center, area that have more of a selection of restaurants, etc. 15. April 2015

Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Great reception staff and very clean hotel It was a pleasent stay at this hotel. the reception staff were excellent and the hotel was very nice and clean inside. However there were some very minor issues. Our room did not have a safe or a chair/foot rest like the other rooms we were in. The food was excellent so we decided to have a drink afterwards in the bar, this was a very disappointing experience. There were only 4 cocktails on the menu and the bar maid only had ingredients to make just two of them. She also took quite a long time to make these as she was chatting to other customers. She also wiped our table with a dirty wet cloth, so we couldn't rest our arms/hands on the table. Safe to say we didn't have a second drink or go back to the hotel bar. 3/5 15. April 2015

Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by Very Pleasantly Surprized People appear to be concerned about the location of this hotel. They need have no worries. San Francisco has a lot of homeless people and the hotel is close to the Tenderloin area. Never once did I feel intimidated and I smiled and greeted any homeless people and was friendly towards them. They appreciated this. Seldom was I asked for money. The hotel does have a doorman on duty. I was greeted warmly and as a Platinum Ambassador member however I was not offered a complimentary upgrade though I checked on the internet later to check if higher spec rooms were available. They were and this was the one disappointing feature. My bed was large and comfortable and benefitted from a choice of pillow softness. The room and bathroom was clean and there was a bathtub. The temperature was adjustable. The hotel is located close to Market Street, where you can catch a selection of busses. The F Tram to Castro or Fisherman's Wharf also passes there. On checkout I left my bags with the concierge while I collected my rental car. I was disappointed that he didn't help me to the car with them. Overall a very pleasant and comfortable stay 13. Rated 1,0 out of 5,0 by Real Noisy Hotel Room was very noisy, it was like sleeping with the windows open. Car alarms constantly going off, police cars constantly going by. The hotel wasn't in a good part of the city, lots of homeless people around. 8. April 2015
