Perfect location if you enjoy swimming in the Gulf waters. Water warm and seemed clean. Visited by dolphins on 2 days.
More umbrellas are needed when days are very sunny and pleasant. Restaurant pretty good, but over-priced.

Rated 5,0 out of 5,0 by Canadian winter refugee Sanibel Holiday Inn .. great location!
This location is wonderful ... and we were coming from a week in South Beach Miami and St. Marten the week before, and Costa Rica the month before .. so our standards for scenery were high!
Like all things Sanibel it is expensive for what you get ... not a condo but a hotel room.
But ... the beach is beautiful and the island a gem!

Rated 2,0 out of 5,0 by paedagogus not a resort by any stretch of the imagination
The Holiday Inn on Sanibel Island bills itself as a resort. That is certainly a stretch. Here is why:
-- Although there is a pool (small) and a seating area around the pool, there is no jacuzzi.
-- There is no workout room in the hotel.
-- The rooms are extremely small. No desk. No chairs to sit in. No closet. Only 2 drawers.
-- The lighting in the room is terrible.
-- There are very few electrical outlets.
-- There was a very small fridge and microwave in the room, but only a tiny tiny table to eat at.
-- The heating/air conditioning is controlled by a separate very noisy unit in each room.
-- The cleaning service is not great. We had 2 burned out light bulbs in the bathroom area and nobody every noticed or replaced them.
-- Bathroom is divided into two parts: sink part and shower/toilet part. The sink part is really part of the bedroom.
All in all, this room was no better than an ordinary room in any ordinary HOliday Inn where the room does not come with a resort price.
Overall, very poor value for the money,
