Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not the best stay On the day of arrival the room allocated had no heating (the main system was not heating because it was 'Summer' and the wall heater did not work). Was told it would be sorted by the time we return that evening but because the fuse had blown this could not be repaired until Monday. Was suggested w use the room that night and move the following day - clearly not acceptable because the public hallway was warmer than the room. First room suggested was an 'easy access' room but on seeing the room asked for another - which we moved into at appoximately 23.00. The breakfast the next morning was OK but certainly the food could do with being hotter. The second day the breakfast was even worse with a single employee doing her best to greet guests / explain the proceedure / and service tables. At the same time the breakfast items were not all kept available and requested eggs took aroun 20-25 miniutes to arrive. This is not the service or normally recived at this or any other IHG hotel - must do better May 20, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent location, clean and tidy, wasn't as booked I had booked a twin, but only a double was available. The sofa bed was made up for my daughter, but was not as comfortable. Nice to have a choice of pillows, but the mattress was overly firm. Children getting free meals is a great incentive, and makes in hotel meals very attractive. Restaurant service was great with a very friendly waitress. Bar service was a bit mixed with our order quite delayed and missing two requests. Overall, pretty much as expected, which is the most you can ask for. May 20, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Business Stay A good location and the staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast, unusually for Holiday Inns, was presented luke warm with plates that were cold resulting in the food being unedible after a few minutes, The toaster was only toasting one side of the bread, and even that was very lightly done. A member of staff tried to put this right on being made aware but was not successful. May 15, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable rooms Room excellent but service and availability at breakfast was poor. The staff on the Sunday morning struggled to keep on top of service even though the dining room was not full. There was not enough food, not enough crockery and we saw a member of staff take a used milk jug from a table that hadn't been cleared to a new table! It was a shame as our stay at Holiday Inn, Plymouth in January was excellent. May 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Too many functions booked on Saturday Night Over the past 10 years I have stayed in many Holiday Inn locations and can honestly say that this was the worst service experience that I have ever had. The good bit is that the room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The bad bits probably all stem from whoever in the management team booked 2 coach parties, a Cricket Club Dinner and a Wedding Reception all for the same night. This is the only Holiday Inn ever at which I have not been able to book a table for dinner. Instead we were invited to eat in the bar. However it proved impossible to get food in a reasonable time with the bar at first packed with the wedding guests, and then the coach parties. We decided to try room service, but they never answered their phone. How can you call yourself a full service hotel when you are unable to provide a timely food service? As you surely must have had considerable notice of the Wedding reception and the coach parties and had time to make alternative arrangements other than the crowed bar for your other guests, why could you not have arranged for sufficient staff to be on duty? It seems that regular customer service had been ignored in favour of coach party and wedding guests. It would be nice to think that this was an isolated event, but it really was a very poor performance. Let’s hope that if I need to stay with you again things will have improved. May 7, 2015
