Warmly welcomed upon arrival by the two friendly and helpful staff on duty. Platinum Status acknowledged and my room was upgraded.
The room itself was, spacious, well appointed and spotlessly clean as was the Hotel in general.
Breakfast in the Morning was a feast with a marvellous selection of hot and cold fares (nice to see beef sausages, instead of the herb/pork ones usually on offer).
Overall an excellent stay in a great hotel.
The one downside was my visit to Luigi's for Dinner. I will say straight away that the food was excellent (if a little pricey), my problem was with the staff.
I arrived as it opened as I was going out for the evening and was quickly shown to a table. My drinks order was taken and quickly returned, the waiter seem to be serving all 4 tables which were occupied while 3 other members of staff stood chatting and joking at the bar.
I made my selections and looked for someone to take my order, however the one waiter who was working was at another table and the other 3 were now studiously avoiding eye contact with myself. Eventually my waiter arrived and the food was ordered and duly came and as I said was excellent.
I can understand when a restaurant is busy having to wait to be served, but when staff are obviously avoiding attending to Paying Customers these Customers get annoyed.
I duly signed for my meal and left after filling in a comments sheet.

Always greetd by a smile and welcome. Very refreshing after a long day. When confirmed i know the hotel, staff do not give their routine welcome speech

Although we chose this hotel as an extra night in Aberdeen having stayed in another Global Chain Hotel in the city centre, and I used my points to book a free night, we wish we had stayed here for the entire stay and paid for it.! One of the best experiences staying at a hotel in the UK and we have stayed at many, and my job as a Travel Manager for an major International Company makes me very critical indeed.
