Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Just not up to par Location is good and parking worked well, but this was not what I have come to expect from Holiday Inn's. Two of the three elevators were broken during most of the visit. The response from the staff was "yeah ...we know". The bath tub liner had begun to de-laminate from the old tub and the drain was clogged. The diner and pub attached were GREAT! 19 August 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by My stay The room provided to me was very nice and relaxing. I wish the pillows were regular size but overall it was still nice along with the decor. All the staff were very pleasant except the employees that work in the dining room. Going to get breakfast on the day of check out wasn't a good morning, the waitress was very nasty and insensitive to our needs. The bust boy who provided the water we drank was very stingy with the straws and his attitude was very poor and uncalled for. They seem very unhappy with their jobs and they shouldn't take it out on paying customers 17 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly, clean and comfortable. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They gave great recommendations on nearby attractions as well as having food delivered. The ice machine on my floor didn't work, but they delivered ice to my room. The room was clean and comfortable. We had on-going issues with one of the two room keys not working, but I would stay there again. 13 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service I traveled alone for the first time to WDC and was made to feel safe, comfortable and like family. Being greeted by the Manager, Frenchi, upon arrival was going the extra effort to make me not ever feel like I was by myself. Informing me about near-by restaurants and that the shuttle would take me and pick me up. Informing me how safe the neighborhood was. He was great! Also, the gals behind the counter were always greeting me with smiles and asked how my day went. Jennifer was awesome. I had a minor situation occur and Candace went above and beyond to assist me. I can't say it enough how grateful I was to Candace. I will go back there for sure next time. Melody 12 August 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Highly Disappointed I was not pleased with my stay at this hotel at all. The first night I was not able to even stay in my room. I was apart of a group holding our church convocation at this hotel in the ballroom. One of the doors to the ballroom had a broken lock on it, and my church had thousands of dollars worth of equipment and merchandise in the rrom that they could not lock. So myself, and 2 other members of our church had to stay up the entire night to ensure that our equipment and merchandise would be protected due to the lack of security provided to our organization... On top of this, alot of the upper management staff made it seem like it was our fault, and made alot of excuses as to why they couldn't lock the doors. They threw comments like "We didn't pay for storage," etc. like that changes the fact that they couldn't lock the door. So I was just really disappointed. Maybe I could have enjoyed myself more if I actually got to sleep in my room both nights, even though I still had to pay for both nights. Was not please at all. 08 August 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service We received great service from everyone, from the front desk, the shuttle drivers, restaurant personnel, etc. All personnel was very corteous and helpful. The shuttle service to the Metro station was very convenient for us as we were on vacations to see the city on foot. The only itmes to improve are the elevators, only 2 on service where not enough and we had to wait sometimes more than 5 minutes for an elevator; and the plumbing in the room, which required fixing more than once. 04 August 2013

The only thing that could have made my stay more enjoyable is if the pool was open. Not sure why it wasn't. But I never asked. Many things to do if you don't mind the walk to the metro (8 blocks). Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Worst Stay ever in Holiday Inn Customer service was virtually unknown by the night desk clerks in this hotel. Snippy, sarcastic responses were the rule and I tried to avoid contact, if possible. It began with the desk clerk not informing me that the card that I presented for all of my expenses only covered my room unless I explicitly stated otherwise. I travel extensively for business and this is the first time that this situation has occurred. This resulted in my embarassment when I ordered room service and signed. Only to discover that only cash was accepted. I needed help with my luggage at checkout. I waited for an hour for someone to help me. The daytime desk personnel were accommodating and nearly made up for the rudeness of the night staff 23 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Late Check-Out Everything at the property went pretty well accept our check out. We had a lot of meetings in the morning and requested a late check-out at 1400. We got back and our keys were disabled so we had to get them swiped to get up to the rooms. We got to rooms at 1345 and at 1355 house keeping was complaining that we were in the rooms still and called the front desk. We left at 1405 but having someone stand outside waiting for you to leave was uncomfortable. 23 July 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Impressed!!! My son and I stayed here for a chess tournament. The staff was very friendly and courteous. The treadmills are very nice. The room was quiet. No airplane noise even though it is close to the airport. The shuttle drivers are great. On the Saturday night of our stay the National Diner was closed. (I'm not sure why. I think perhaps they were catering to a large group.) My son and I ordered our meal and were waiting for it as we were going to eat it in the room. Carlos, the manager on duty, made our trip special when he opened up a table with service at the National Diner even though they were officially closed for dining in. Thanks Carlos it was the highlight of our trip!!! Try the New York strip it is delicious.. 11 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shuttle to Metro Tops This hotel is only a few blocks from a great commercial and dining area called Crystal City. If you are like me and want to use the Metro Rail to get around town the Shuttle service that is provided is wonderful and well worth staying at this hotel. The room was very comfortable and staff very friendly. The pool was closed during my stay but as i was out and around town every day till time to sleep I don't think I would have had time to use it. 10 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 1 night stay Very nice place. The room was a bit small but was okay for 2 people. The room service from the pub was good. The National Diner wasn't great; it was clean but our waiter was difficult to understand and the food and coffee were not very good. Great location! Very nice to be able to get transportation to the Metro whenever we needed it but had to wait quite a while for transportation back to hotel from Metro station. The staff, upon check-in, was incredibly friendly and helpful! 07 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel and location Congress was out of session, so I stopped here after working in Maryland. The rates in all area hotels are much less expensive when Congress is out of town. 7-8 block walk to the train, $3 ticket to the Smithsonian. 5 block walk to a multitude of small restaurants and cafes. The only downside is that the hotel restaurant is contracted out to Red Robin, which I don't care for. Other than that, this is a great hotel and location for the price I paid! 06 July 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Old Property Not worth D Name OR Price I was disappointed to see Holiday Inn National in DC area is such a old and "Not-a-real-HolidayInn" property. After a quick 10-min in bathroom I guessed this was not a "real" HolidayInn" property but purchased from "X" and renamed. Of-course Hotel MGR confirmed I was right :(. It's a old-school 30+ yr old property but still charging 150-200 USD per night to IBM. Unfortuntely all other hotels nearby are full. Hence they also are ~100% booked. MGR Jen on duty was good and courteous and agreed this property needs renovation overall as well as in Bathrooms. No breakfast served despite high-rates. Room had some spiders. Water-fountain in lobby was broken even after follow-up trip 2-week s later. Shuttle service is good but very limited to small Local area <1-miles and airport. 02 July 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by room cleaning service We were very disappointed with the cleaning service. We had a family reunion and booked 3 rooms. One of our rooms was never cleaned for couple of days and the towels that were left on the floor were placed back of the rack. Mascara and lipstick stains were still on the wet towel. The floor was never cleaned - same trash on the floor the entire week. Had to ask for towels at the front desk. 27 June 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location for sightseeing I and four others stayed here when we came to tour Washington DC. It was so easy to catch the metro and go to anywhere we wanted to be. I was worried that we would be too far from the metro station but the shuttles were always ready to carry us to the station and pick us up. Malki (shuttle driver) is so friendly and helpful. He is a wonderful representative for your hotel. The rooms were nice and comfortable. There are good restaurants in the area and a McDonalds next door if you want a quick breakfast. We ate at O'Malley's one night and it was good, and was a good place to stop by in the afternoon or at night for a quick refreshment. I feel like we made an excellent choice when choosing where we would stay on our vacation. 18 June 2013

The food and beverage that was catered to the conference was very, very good and the attention to every little detail by Carlos and Marco was excellent. The front desk staff were kind and friendly, and bent over backwards to attend to our every little need. The room was very comfortable, and the maid service did not even squeak at my requests, as I had some things I needed to make my stay comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel for both just the needs of nightly stays and also for booking for a conference or event. They did a very, very nice job! 17 June 2013
