I stayed here last year and it was a great experience, however this year I could see the customer levels had fallen off. It took forever to get checked in, long lines, two emplyees working the desk and always answering the phones. The elevators were always crowded and long waits to get one. We tried to use the stairs, but got yelled at from an emplyee that we had to wait for the elevators. I had issues accessing the business room to print my boarding pass so I asked for assistance with the front desk personnel. They both got cocky with me and were of no help. I will need to look elsewhere for a hotel next year.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Roselady The most convenient place to stay for an ATLANTA BRAVES game.
This was our 5th visit to the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Atlanta for an ATLANTA BRAVES game. Our 10th floor King Bed room had a perfect view of Turner Field, with only a 5 minute walk to the stadium's entrance gates. For those who have difficulty walking, a rotating free (van# shuttle is offered to and from the stadium on a first come-first serve basis.
The registration staff was friendly and helpful, and check-in was only a brief wait, considering the number of guests who were there for the game. Parking beneath the facility is convenient for a reasonable additional fee. A discounted rate is applied for Rewards members.
Our room was extremely clean and well-kept, and it smelled of fresh carpet shampoo upon entering. While we did not request a microwave or refrigerator, they are availabe for $10 each or $15 for the pair.
Be advised that following a BRAVES game, you will experience a long wait for one of the 4 elevators due to the returning crowds in the lobby. This is also applicable if you check out at 11:00 AM the morning following a late game. Expect a 15-20 minute wait for an elevator, as they fill quickly. An early check-out avoids prolonged elevator access.
There is no free breakfast, but an excellent grill is located in the lobby area, and the prices #for the Atlanta area) are reasonable.
Overall, our experience there has always been a positive one.

Found this hotel and made last minute reservations and was extremely impressed.(Safe) Walking distance to Turner Field. Met by an extremely friendly staff at a well staffed front desk which made checking in very easy. Plenty of parking ($18, but well worth it) and security on site. Rooms are not new, but clean and comfortable. Resturant stayed open well after midnight to allow for a snack after the game. Only a couple of waitresses so be friendly! They are working extra hours to provide you a service and probably have to be in early the next morning. Highly recoomend this hotel!

Beds were very comfortable, clean, quiet room, hotel did not seem overly full, which was nice for us. Great location for Braves games, though neighborhood is not the best. Television channel selection much improved over previous visits. Only treadmill was broken when we were there. Pool seemed nice, but weather was overcast and cool when we were there (August!) Ate breakfast twice, had buffet. Coffee was excellent. Other typical breakfast foods were very good. Had fruit, yogurt, as well as the high calorie foods. Would stay there again for Braves games.

I chose this hotel for the price and for the free shuttle they advertise. The shuttle is scheduled to run every 30 minutes during the day. Oh, that is unless the driver has something else to do. Then you are left waiting an hour for him. "He had to go to a meeting." Then don't say your shuttle makes a trip every 30 minutes! If it has to be planned ahead, say so! That was one driver. Another one was very rude and snotty, and even made it a point to drive by where I was walking and give me an unpleasant gesture. Really? This is the kind of person you think I'm going to get into the van with alone? I don't think so.
There is nothing close by for food or supplies. The front desk staff, who for the most part was very good, will give you some menus for places that will deliver. Those places, however, will not deliver during baseball game times. You have to wait until the game is over or eat the hotel's overpriced, limited choice food. No one bothers to tell you that until it's too late. Also during game times, the hotel lobby is packed with people waiting to go over to the game, and it's difficult to get into the hotel because they have baseball parking on those days.
I also did not care for the guest laundry. Granted, it is free, but while waiting for my clothes to finish washing so I could dry them, a man walked in, took off his sweaty t-shirt, and threw it into the dryer. Gross! That man then proceeded to make use of the LADIES locker room.
One good thing was the housekeeping staff. My room was clean and restocked nicely every single day.
Oh, you could not print anything in their business center.
Overall, I did not like the hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone.

The exercise equipment did not work, the pool was suppose to be open until 10 pm but at 9 pm all the lights both around and in the pool were off. so it did not seem inviting. the breakfast was poor when compared to a HI Express.
The hotel room did not have a refrigerator or microwave.
The staff was nice and the view from our room was nice (10th floor)
I thought the location was misleading, it was close to turner field but downtown was not easy walking distance and we never knew about a courtesy shuttle.
I also thought the gift for being a IHG member was tacky. a 33 cent bottle of water or $2.00 off a poor breakfast buffet

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Steph11 Good Restaurant but poor room and service.
The restaurant was good. The room was damp and nothing would ever dry out. We had to repeatedly ask for wash cloths daily and then were only given 2 when there were 4 of us. I did feel safe and the pool was clean and fun for the kids. Would not stay here again.

While the price may have been lowere than most, you do get what you pay for. The room was nice however, there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. Can't get totally dry if you are standing in a steamy bathroom. The room temp was either too cool or too hot. Couldn't get it to regulate properly. The Shuttel system that is portrayed as convienent was slow. THe drivers were always friendly and appologized if they were late, but to be left standing for an hour and 45 minutes was uncalled for. The manager on staff did credit my parking and give us (4 guests) a free breakfast buffet, but I don't think that was good enough for our wait and stress factor. Also, when I went to leave, I got in my car to find it filled with ants. We killed what we could and continued to kill them on our 10 hour drive home. After home for a week we still had them popping up. I told the front desk who said they would have someone check the lot but there was nothing she could do for me. So unhappy and frustrated for sure!!

Easy fun walk to Turner field. The shuttle service was wonderful. It made it very easy to get to the hotel from the airport and the downtown locations. The rooms were very comfortable! The grilled food after the baseball game was very good and a great way to relax after the games. The breakfast was the only item we tried and would not care to try again. We plan to stay here for all our trips to Turner field.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JLB76 Good for the Braves game.
The two problems I had with the hotel were as follows. I had asked about a roll away bed on the phone and was told it would be $10 extra. When we got to the hotel they told me it would be $25, but they were out of them. The other issue is when booking online they failed to mention the $18 per day parking fee until after the reservation had been made. They are making some money off their location to Turner Field. Other than this we had a good stay. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable.

Overall our stay was good. The hotel was extremely busy the weekend we were there but hotel staff tried to help in anyway they could. The hotel has a good pool overlooking Downtown. The only complaint I have is it would have been nice to have more than 1 bar of soap in our room. We stayed 3 nights and had 1 bar of soap which had to be used for the sink and shower.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by AshleyMac Don't request anything! The wifi is free is you can get a signal.
I made my reservations for two rooms 3 months in advance. At the time of reserving, I requested and was confirmed that I would have two adjoining rooms. I mean common sense would dictate if you book multiple rooms, you would want them next to each other. As we were checking in we were told one room was on the 6th floor and the other on the 9th floor. When I questioned the room placement, I was told, "We are very busy and we try to accommodate all request. This is the best we can do." It was two rooms, not a block of ten rooms I wanted side by side. There didn't seem to be a problem accommodating the little league baseball team that was checking in?
Free wifi is offered which was a plus. That's if you can even get a signal to connect. And if you by chance, get a low signal, you won't be able to connect to any pages.
The restaurant staff was beyond pitiful. We waited over an hour for food to find out the server hadn't even entered our order. The manager indicated he would be compensating the meal so I was surprised when the server brought us a ticket after not seeing her since we had placed the order.

Reservations: I placed my reservation for 2 rooms with queen beds in April 2013, plus added baby crib,frig/microwave in one room. Week of my arrival, I received confirmation for one of the rooms. When I called to check to ensure I had two rooms, I was told my reservation was cancelled. The property canceled the room. When I arrived on 25 July to check in, the service counter had me down for three rooms. The two rooms I had reserved in April 2013 and the room for disabilities that was added because of the error of the cancellation. My complaint: Reservations added undue stress to me and my party because we were unsure if we could be together during our 4 days in Atlanta.
Service: On 25 July, after we checked in, I was told the crib and microwave/frig will be coming to my son's room. Note: We checked in around :5:45PM on 25 July 2013. We left the hotel to pick up items for the baby and reminded the service counter that we needed a crib, frig/microwave. We returned to the hotel around 9PM and the crib/microwave/frig was NOT delivered. We had to call the service desk AGAIN for the items.
More on service: The fitness equipment was not working. The treadmill was out of order and so was one of the exercise bikes. Only one bike worked. The hotel was full of guests and I witnessed numerous guests come in and leave upset because they could not work out due to equipment not working. The hotel need to upgrade all the equipment in fitness room ASAP and ensure the equipment is checked each day to ensure all works.
Pool: Service need to ensure towels are always in place for guests. We had to go to service desk two days for towels. They took their time in getting us the towels.
Dining: I was with a party of 6, plus a child, and I ordered a cobb salad. The dining room was not filled with guests. It took a long time for the order to come and I was given an incorrect order.
Hotel needs to stress to its employees present top quality customer service at all times. From reservations, front desk, dining and all around in-house service involving housekeeping, ensure items are available in fitness room/pool, etc.

This hotel is not up to the same standard as most other IHG hotels I stay in. Clearly the draw for this hotel is Turner Field and every nickle is being made due to the location. Needs a lot of updating. Bathrooms and heating cooling systems are a 1 star hotel level. Still a good value and will stay there again when going to a Braves game.

We were in town for a conference and booked this hotel with our points rewards. The hotel itself is a little tired looking but the beds were comfortable. Loved the free shuttle to businesses within a 3 mile radius of the hotel but the bus is pretty beat down. We would stay again.
Didn't receive any recognition for being a Rewards Club Member which I thought was a bit unusual.

The overal experience at this hotel was disappointing. The room itself was nice -- very comfortable bed and a flat-screen TV -- and the AC ROCKED.
The coffeemaker, however, was missing. There were not enough towels and no extra blanket.
The price was high, considering the prices of motels a little closer to the Braves stadium. Parking was high, too, and the bill was confusing. I was not told about the "amenities" charge (and it was not mentioned on the website).
Overall I had a better, and cheaper, experience at a nearby motel.

This is my hotel of choice for catching a Cardinals/Braves game. Easy in and easy out. Walking distance to the ballpark. Friendly staff, comfortable bed and reasonably priced. A couple of more elevators would be nice when the place is full. My only complaint is PLEASE stop setting the ac unit on 62 before I arrive. It takes a full day to chip the ice off the sheets!

There was one nice staff member at the front desk the last day of my stay (Thursday). The other staff members were very rude and standoffish. They acted as if your requesting some items from them was more of an irritation than that of one " providing a service".
The carpet was nasty in the hall enterance by bathrooms, there was no construction options given while we were in our conference. The toilet was broken in the room and I was still given the room. No one caught the option before my checkin which questioned and confirmed the cleanliness of the room and the hotel.
The hotel does not offer various food options for all patrons. Being a vegetarian there were limited to no options for me.
Finally, I will not recommend that anyone stays here until you give customer service training to your staff.

We enjoyed our recent visit to this hotel. This was the second time we stayed here. Overall, it was a good stay. Our room was clean except the power strip next to the bed, which was very dusty. The with bathroom was also very clean. The biggest problem we had was trying to get into the hotel on the day of a Braves game. The road to the hotel was turned into a one way street & we had to figure out how to get into the hotel through all the traffic & find the right road to get into the hotel.

The staff at Atlanta Capitol Conference Ctr is probably one of the friendliest hotel staff's I've ever encountered. Did not expect to be so pleased considering what we paid for the rooms.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by JimG123 Inconvenient Check In
My family and I stayed at this property during a Braves game weekend. Our Check-In experience was a nightmare. While waiting in line to check-in before the game started, several of us waiting in line were met by the hotel Director of Operations who said they had several rooms ready and that everyone in line would be able to get into rooms....only to learn a few minutes later at the front desk that they didn't have rooms available yet. This misrepresentation by the Director of Operations was quite disappointing, to say the least.
Since we couldn't check-in to our room, we decided to go on to the game at nearby Turner Field and check-in after the game was over. After the game, we returned to the hotel and waited in a long line with other baseball fans trying to check-in while only ONE clerk was working the front desk....(TOTALLY surprising, considering the number of guests that would be checking-in after the game).
Check out was equally disappointing.... The Rapid Check Out envelope placed under our room door was for the wrong room.. resulting in us having to go down to the front desk to check out.
As a Priority Gold member, I would have expected better service than what was provided by this property.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by RedEyeGuest Typical Rooms That Need Improvement
Although I stayed for a family reunion event that turned out nice, this review is based solely on my room and dining experience.
Holiday Inn is not exactly known for superior quality, so I try to keep that in mind when I book such places. The room appeared relatively clean upon arrival. However, there are a few improvements that need to be made. The carpet was so damp the entire time I stayed I had to wear flip-flops to walk around so i wouldn't be grossed out. I thought it was just due to the humidity, so I left the AC going while I was out of the room. That did not improve the dampness. The pillows were also extremely uncomfortable. I wish hotels would invest in king size pillows rather than a bunch of throw-sized pillows. I had to spend a good 15 minutes flattening and unscrunching them every night just to get somewhat comfortable. I don't think I slept comfortably any of the 3 nights, and woke up with a crook in my neck every morning. The door jams also need to be tightened. My door didn't shut unless I let it slam, and apparently all the other doors are unhinged as well given the cadence of slamming doors all day and night.
As for the food....
I usually like to stay at hotels that offer complementary breakfast as part of the package. Unfortunately, HI ATL does not offer this amenity. I was forced to eat the buffet breakfast due to my morning time constraints. The breakfast was not worth the money I paid for it. I would have been a little more understanding of the quality if it were for free. On the other hand, the food provided at our banquet event was pretty tasty for hotel food. I'm sure they all come from the same kitchen, but they need to get on one accord with the quality.

We've always enjoyed this hotel. It's a great location for walking to and from the Atlanta Braves's games (which is the reason we first stayed here and, actually, the only reason we've been to Atlanta in the recent past); easy on/off interstate highways; close proximity to some good restaurants; food, beverage, and housekeeping staff is accommodating and welcoming; the rooms are neat and tidy; and, the front desk staff at this hotel is excellent.
