I stayed there because of price and would probably try to avoid it if possible. Remodeled but the age still comes through. The regular working staff was good and pleasant, the ladies behind the counter (the shift didn't matter) not so much. When I arrived they were very put off because they were very busy. Two comments made were interesting. First, we are so busy we can only give you a room that we have, not what was reserved. Second and the best, I asked "How do I access the lobby stairway to get up to my floor ?"- reply from behind the counter - "Sir we do not have stairs that access the floors" - What - Really! I would say management training is in need especially in the area of property comprehension and hospitality.
Price for food and drink represented a higher star property.
Good news the bed was comfy.

My stay may not have been so bad had I not experience the worst customer service. The front desk staff was rude and not accommodating.

We've stayed at this property twice recently. Staff is great. Friendly, helpful, accommodating! Love Lisa at the front desk and Jonas and Mike in the shuttle! Restaurant really needs more of a varied menu. That's the only recommendation I can make. Otherwise, great property.

We spent two nights at this hotel. Our main reason for choosing was the location to Turner Field. Room was nice. Staff was very friendly and efficient. Shuttle staff great. Had dinner and breakfast on site. Pricey, but very good food.

Really enjoyed the omelet chef. Some of the best I've had in years.
Your staff at the front desk were also very helpful and patient. They directed to a great restaurant for lunch while we waited for our room to be prepared for early check-in.
Everyone at the hotel was polite and friendly.

My wife and I enjoyed our stay while we attended the Braves Opening day game on April 1st 2013. The shuttle driver that took us to the game was great and does his job very well !!! That was a nice treat after driving for 4 hours and being stuck in traffic trying to get to the hotel.. The view from our hotel room was amazing ( 11th floor) ,The breakfast the next morning was very good as well as the service that went with it, The waiter was nice and made sure we were taken care of .. I recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to attend a Braves Game , or while visiting Atlanta !!!

Was in ATL for a business trip so not much time for "playing," so it was especially telling that the staff were some of the friendliest & most helpful I've ever encountered. Was disappointed that the restaurant wasn't open but the staff at the bar, where the food was being served, made me comfortable. offered excellent suggestions, and made me feel at home.

I recently said at the hotel due to a Business trip my overall stay was great. The only thing I can say negative is that I wish they would get rid of the $15 parking charge, other then that everything else was great.

Upon check-in, I was pleasantly surprised by the decor. My children loved the room and were so excited with their stay. I appreciate the friendly staff and the cleanliness of the rooms. The beds were comfortable, the TV was up to date, I was in awe.I also liked the gated parking as it added a level of security as well. Every year we stay in Atlanta to attend the circus, and next year we will go here as well!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Denise45 Attentive staff, great location and excellent value
I stay here every time I come to Atlanta for business, which is often. It is an EXCELLENT location to get to the Capitol, as well as all the major attractions like Turner Field, Centennial Park, CNN, Coke, Aquarium and others. The staff are always helpful and polite - everyone from the front desk to the wonderful shuttle drivers (FREE within 3 mile radius- what a great deal!) to housekeeping and everyone else. The rooms could be updated, but they are always clean and the property is well maintained. The restaurant is average, but it's fine for a quick meal at a reasonable price. With all the overpriced hotels in Atlanta, this Holiday Inn is exceptionally reasonally priced - even in prime seasons. I will remain a repeat customer as I appreciate the staff and the great value!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by JJD2500 Sufficient
This property is in a decent location, but anyone staying here for events taking place at the Congress Center or other locations in the city will be dependent on alternative transportation, as walking is just a bit too far.. The hotel does operate a van/shuttle on the half hour, but it ceases at 11:00 pm, so taxi cabs would be required.
Overall the property is sufficient and should meet most needs of average travelers. The location would be very good if traveling to Atlanta for MLB/Braves games, as the stadium is in easy walking distance. Although my room was well appointed in linens and reasonably quite on the top (15th) floor, the WiFi reception was sporadic and should be address by the management.
In the common areas like the lobby and cocktail lounge the decor was dated an well worn. A remodel and redecorating of these areas would go a long way in increasing the curb appeal and creating solid first impressions upon arrival.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bill1110 Not impressed
Not impressed with this property at all. This hotel needs a MAJOR makeover. It is a shame because the location of the hotel is great. The biggest problem I had was cleanliness in and around the restaurant area. The only breakfast offered was inside the restaurant. The most shocking thing was the carpet in the restaurant. IT WAS FILTHY. You could see an outline next to the wall of what the carpet looked like when clean. It looked as if it had never been shampooed. And you could feel that stickyness under your feet. Gross. There were kids hand prints that were very noticeable on the glass in the restaurant that I saw two days in a row. It looked like chocolate smeared on the glass. The highchair we used was so sticky from previous use that I let my son sit in a regular chair. The carpet in the center hallway was also filthy too. The beds in our room was basically worn out. The beds both made loud squeaking noise when you would move during the night. I have learned my lesson. Will stay downtown from now on.

We arrived at 3pm and were told that regular check-in time is 4pm. Our room was not clean and we were not able to check-in until after 5:30pm. This was very stressful and hectic as my group needed to get ready and get to our conference on time. The staff did not take care of us while we were waiting and was not very helpful or friendly. They were impatient with us.

WHEN I BOOKED AND PAYED FOR OUR ROOM I PAID FOR BREAKFAST THAT I DIDNT GET WE HAD TO PAY FOR IT . THE SHUTTLE WOULD NOT COME PICK US UP AFTER THE EVENT AFTER HE WAS TOLD TOO AND THE SHUTTLE TIME WAS NOT UP YET. ME AND MY 6YR OLD SON HAD TO WAIT ON THE STREET AND FIND A CAB AND PAY HIM TO TAKE US BACK TO THE HOTEL WHICH I CALLED THE HOTEL ALSO TO GET SOMEONE TO COME GET US AND THEY WOULD NOT HELP EITHER.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Braves2012 Close to Turner Field
The room service I thought was a little pricey for burgers and chips with the delivery fee. Not may choices for food within walking distacne. Hotel is clean and staff is nice. TV's need upgrading and more channel selections. The walking distance to Turner Field for a Braves game is great but a little over priced for what i received. Parking price is not bad at all compared to downtown hotels. Probably stay downtown next time and use Marta transit over to the games.

Enjoyed my stay. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Bartender was most helpful. He was very knowledgeable of the area and was able to recommend various places for us as well as give clear directions. I apologize for not remembering his name but he worked Saturday October 6th. Thank you to him. Only suggestion, would be to make a more visible sign for the Ice Machine. Had a little trouble locating it.

Stayed at this property because of being close to Turner Field. Staff were helpful; room was very well kept. Hotel should work to have easier access for arrival on game days; trying to get to the property was devilish. The staff were kind and helpful, always smiling; however, they were slammed. On such a busy day, more staff were needed. The food in the restaurant was well prepared and tasty, but the service was slow because too many patrons and not enough staff. Again, the staff were wonderful, not their fault.

This hotel across the street from Turner Field was super convenient for attending a Braves game. However, the breakfast buffet did not look good and the quality of the ala carte breakfast was not up to par considering the high price.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 a bit outdated
My recent stay at Holiday Inn 450 Capital ave in atlanta, ga left a lot to be desired. 1) The tv was outdated and broke down the 2 day of my stay. The eating area ( the Grille) was not as clean as it should have been ( however the food was very good tasting). The door to my room made a strange sound as if .it was opening when a nearby door was opened or closed. This was disconcerting late at night. The hotel needs a makeover. It is however, very convenient to Turner Field ( home of the Atlanta Braves_

Hotel location is not good, even not far from city center, nothing within walking distance, no restaurant, no market, not even corner store. Staff not very friendly, priority club member not recognized. I rented a car the second day of my stay, when I drove back to hotel after dinner at around 8pm, as soon as I got off the highway, road to hotel is blocked due to base ball game. I tried different route, not successful. I drove round and round for about an hour, I decided to park my car on the street and called the hotel looking for advice. I called 5 times, either hang up on me or re-directed to different persons who cannot offer any help. I finally waited for about 2 and half hour until the police lifted all the blockades. I was so tired and frustrated. I will definitely not return to this hotel.
