On arrival it was obvious there was a "works do' in progress that took over the restaurant and subsequently the bar area as well. Food still available in bar but not restaurant as advertised.Very noisy and constant stream of partygoers going through slow shutting doors to garden to smoke made it very cold. not at all pleasant. Like sitting on a railway station.
Room very good at first site but heating uncontrollable pumping out dry dry hot air regardless. Mentioned to reception who said they would check but they didm t mention it further and was still doing its own thing later. Switched it off completely. Probably mistake as we then found duvet was only a couple of inches larger than bed and so spent a very cold night.
Check out was a long line with one girl on duty. Mentioned heating and she said would take some money off bill. Didn' t say how much and played with paperwork for considerable time. Eventually i managed to work out from bill that it was £6. Might have been okay apart from the very unprofessional way of dealing with it which completely negated any goodwill.
If a hotel does not have the size or layout to cater for functions without totally destroying the facilities for other paying guests, then possibly they should warn such guests when this kind of thing is going on prior to booking. Made this booking to avoid early start and get nights rest.Total waste of time and money.

Hotel was easy to find in a good location.
Bedroom and bathroom very spacious.
The bed was massive and was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in.
Rooms were little out dated compared to some of the other holiday inns, however the restaurant and bar facilities were modern.
All the staff were friendly and helpful.
Breakfast was excellent lots of choice.
Didn't used the leisure facilities.
Will definitely be staying here again.

Having stayed at the Hotel for an extended period. I have to say one in four meals had to be returned; would have been more but it was getting embarrassing. As the stay was on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast Rate there was no compensation given.
The electricity in the room failed on more than eight separate occasions; resulting in calls to reception and the 'breaker' havingto be reset.
No notification on one occassion that the restaurant was closed and a temporary alternative had been set up; so we eat out.
Complained to management and it was implied that we were liars and had got things wrong; eventually told if we did not like it check out - We Did!
Have sent an e-mail to the hotel requesting information from them still no reply. This is how they treat Platinum Members!
There are alternative hotels close by.....
