Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Arnost M. Is it an Express or full Holiday Inn..
Dilemma I found when entered this hotel and found so many things confusing. First for some really strange reason you going to check in at 9th Floor as the lobby down is only concierge which I found later on completely useless – you ask bellboy or people out of hotel to arrange taxi etc. not the desk there.
9th Floor I arrived at 8 pm. But only one person there to manage in few minutes over 10 people for check in. As platinum member I looked for priority check in counter… there is none and in general as IHG Member you find there is nothing to give you reason stay In this hotel.
Check in was ok, but then I asked questions – was I upgraded – yes. Executive lounge access – no you need to pay extra for this. I was not the only one who was very surprised by this policy but ok.
Room on 9th floor and now the surprises – room smaller and worst equip then any Holiday Inn Express I ever been. No bath only shower – again what is for lowest Express as standard not for Inn.
Pluses – very nice pool area and Zeta café has good even reasonable priced food and drinks. Evening buffet really nice, however again surprise you can get it cheaper if you “register or ask for some coupon” at check in desk (did not know it find out 2 days out from Bangkok), you can get a discount as well if you show that you are platinum member – they will not check by them self, you have to know it.
Bed in room was really good and I have to sleeping was good ( would be great if would stay a bit higher and thus not need to listen the noise at street bellow so much). In general for the money paid I would say – go to the very short away Holiday Inn Express, you get way better price, including breakfast (not so good, but really reasonable) better larger and nicer rooms and the fact that it doesn’t have so many restaurants etc. included… go out you find them around.
So after reasonable consideration I would say not recommended especially if you expecting any higher level treatment as club member, there simply is none.
BTW: if you want to experience longest possible waiting on lifts, visit this hotel. 4 slowest most strangely going lifts I ever experienced so 5-10min waiting for one is normal.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TFS7 NON BETTER
I have stayed in over 100 IHG brand hotels of all levels across 5 continents.
There really is a very good reason why I have stayed in this hotel over 40 times since it opened 4 years or so ago. THERE IS NO BETTER VALUE FOR MONEY OR BETTER MANAGED HOTEL AT THIS LEVEL ANYWHERE.
The management at all levels is high quality with the ALL hotel staff that match them.
In all my many stays I have had 3 problems and all were resolved in a few hours.
Use it once and you will come back - or for sure.
A great experience - my home in Asia.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JamesInLondon Pleasant stay...but not sure value was there
Just returned from a 9 night stay at the Holiday Inn Bangkok Sukhumvit 22. First impressions, very good indeed, lovely modern building, with various cafes and food/drink amenities located either within or adjoining.
Check in (bizarrely you check in on the 9th floor as ground level is concierge) was fine, greeted as an IHG rewards club member by a very nice lady with understandable English.
The room itself, nice enough, a little smaller than what I'm used to in previous Holiday Inns, but no bath!! Only a walk in shower with no door!? Very disappointing. I don't know what the international standard is but in England it's : Holiday Inns have a bath, Holiday Inn Expresses have a shower. I'm sure this won't bother many people but I chose to stay at a Holiday Inn (rather than a HI Express) in order to be able to have a soak after a long day. I could have saved a fair amount of money staying at a nearby HI Express and had breakfast included as well.
Other things: lifts, very temperamental. Have to swipe key card to reach desired floor, but regularly found that if the lift made many stops, often your floor would be "deleted" and you'd miss it. Or it didn't swipe properly or whatever.
Final night we decided to try the buffet on the 8th floor. We were told 910 baht each?! But if we were staying at the hotel we could go to reception on the 9th floor and get a coupon to get it at 600 baht (or whatever). What's the need for the detour? Why can't I just show my room key? In the end we went out to eat.
Onto the good stuff. Wifi in room - excellent, very fast, easy to use, can log on with up to 4 devices. Great. Beds extremely comfortable and room cleaned to a very high standard every day by poilte housekeeping staff. TV, very good size, and plenty of space in the fridge to store your own drinks as well as the minibar selection.
The bar on the 29th floor is amazing and has a wonderful view of the Bangkok skyline. Drinks served by a cheerful and jokey waiter (I like it when staff have a sense of humour), I'd recommend going a bit later in the evening when there are more people and a good atmosphere,
Staff were always helpful, really nice restaurant downstairs in the hotel called Bangkok Betty's and a lovely coffee shop downstairs too. Location is great, not far from both the MTS and SkyTrain, you're also a short walk from Soi Cowboy where there is a lot of bars and fun nightlife.
Despite the initial comments I do give this a "yes" recommendation and would consider staying here again on my next trip to Bangkok if I could get a room with a bath included for a comparable price.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by pair2111 HI in Sukhumvit
One of the many HI that there are in Bangkok. This is one of the newer ones, about 2 years old, a bit down Sukhumvit.
Great setting for shopping as malls all around you. Lovely place for afternoon tea (TWG) in the mall towards the nearest BTS station on the right as you walk down.
Rooms are clean and bright and bed was lovely and comfortable. As a Pt IHG member I got an upgrade to a a Junior suite to so I can't complain:))
Bathroom was bright and airy but not overly large.
Staff were friendly and helpful
The entrance area at the bottom of the hotel is a bit dark and could do with cheering up!
Food selection at breakfast was good with everything you could want for Western and a fair selection for Eastern tastes too.
However, I ate in the hotel one night and did not find the food overly good. Did not go for buffet, which was large but the al carte selection was not so good. Had chicken and baked potato and the latter was cold, disappointing!!!
So lovely hotel, good staff but eat somewhere else in the evening unless you want the buffet.

Das Hotel ist OK, gelegentlich etwas überlaufen beim Frühstück. Der Skytrain ist nicht weit und ein Sportpark in der Nähe.
