Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Public Transport Needed The hotel itself was fine and clean, gardens lovely - comments made as appropriate just found it difficult as had travelled by train and found no public transport other than taxis. Left a note about bulb mising overbed light 24 July 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Small room, great breakfast Externally it is not an attractive hotel but inside it looks and feels like many other Holiday Inns I have stayed. However, the I found the room to be very small for 2 people, probably perfect for a businessman on his/her own. Also the lack of a fridge in the room was something I missed. The breakfast was very tasty and enjoyable with plenty of choice. 24 July 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Arrived late, left early. Seemed fine On this stay I arrived about 1am in the morning and went straight to sleep then left at 9am. The room was nice and spacious although I think we had been upgraded. Can't say much as never experienced much of the hotel, staff were pleasant and didn't have breakfast. I have been stopping at this hotel for about 6 year now when in the area on business and my previous reviews will confirm that it was a great place to stay and the staff were fantastic and made you feel part of the group. Unfortunately I stayed earlier this month and on arrival completed the normal form and indicated that I required a paper in the morning and confirmed this verbally. The morning arrived - and no paper so I went to reception. The receptionist told me that I hadn't ordered paper and shrugged her shoulders and turned her back on me and walked away into a rear office. I spoke to Kevin the General Manager who offered to go to a local newsagents and get me one but by this time I needed to check out and get to work. I went to the reception to check out and I was once again dealt with by the same receptionist. Her first question was 'I hope everything was perfect for you'. I reminded her of the issue with the newspaper and again she didn't seem the least bit interested. She then offered to reduce my bill - so............ my company who cover my expenses benefit and I lose out as I would have received less Rewards Points ............... I know there has been a big change in staff here but common courtesy should always prevail. This, I hope is an isolated issue as the rest of the staff at this hotel are fantastic but it only takes one bad apple ................ 18 July 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Average hotel reasonable parking This was a reward night so I suppose I shouldn't have expected too much. The hotel is on an entertainment complex so there are lots of restaurants, cinema etc nearby. The staff are generally very helpful but the hotel looks very off putting from outside, and it is a bit worn inside. When I arrived at lunchtime there was no parking due to an event but later in the evening there was no problem. Parking seemed safe despite being close to bars etc. I had trouble with the TV which didn't work when I switched it on, all info on the hotel is on the TV so this meant I had no idea how things worked, meal times etc. It was fixed quite quickly but channels are limited. Overall an OK hotel but quite expensive for outside London 22 June 2014
