Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Absolutely fab! Firstly i want to know where they got the mattress! it was so comfy! the breakfast was fab and the kids loved the swimming pool. The staff were super friendly, i was drenched as there was a thunder storn and i got wet through oe of the staff stopped me and asked if i would like a towel to dry myself. If i had a slight critisism it would only be in a downstairs bedroom with the children. But this hotel is lovely i will certainly be going back! Cadburys world and the black country muesum are very nearby. 30 May 2014

Breakfast good on first day but was being cleared away on second! Really enjoyed the pool and gym. Would stay again as is a good meeting point between North Wales and the South of England. 30 May 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Charged twice despite trying to say I had already paid Your receptionist insisted that I had not paid, so I had to pay again even though I was sure I had already done so. I also voluntarily pointed out that I had asked for breakfast the night before but had not been charged. I work for a children's charity so this is not good. My colleague at the charity has been told that I have had a refund made to my card but I have not received an E Mail nor any apology. The Receptionist, who was generally somewhat off-hand, asked me twice if I would give the hotel a score out of 10. I gave 7, not knowing that I had been charged twice. 19 May 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by General Experience Good: The staff here are absolutely superb. With professional and happy staff meeting and greeting at breakfast sets the scene for the day. Can't complain at the variety of food at breakfast other than the impact on my waistline. Swimming pool and facilities really useful to wind down. Bad: First hotel I have used that does not have wi-fi and charges crazy prices to use it. Pint of Boddingtons in the bar was awful and was my first and last. 18 May 2014

Plenty of towels and bathrobes, tv great, didn't use internet. Would definitely stay in a Holiday Inn again. Staff really courteous and polite. Thank you for making our stay memorable. 14 May 2014

The welcome I receive from the reception staff is professional and friendly. The bar and restaurant staff are pleasant and extremely obliging. The hotel furnishings are dated however clean and the customer service sets the hotel apart from others I have stayed at. 12 May 2014

Above all we were professionally dealt with a smile at breakfast by a lady called Angelica/Angelina, what a lovely lady. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A lovely break! We recently stayed at this hotel for a short break, I have to say that it was super! When we checked in the lady on the desk had a small general chat with us, we were really not rushed, it seemed very personable. We made our way to our room, which was clean and comfortable. We proceeded to dinner, which was included in our package. Dinner was lovely, so relaxing and nothing was too much trouble. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast before facing a busy day, the breakfast too was really nice. We returned to the hotel early evening and enjoyed some relaxing time in the pool and sauna. After our relaxing time we went for super in the restaurant again, which once again was lovely, we enjoyed our family time together. Our complete stay was most enjoyable, made so by all of the staff, as for all of them nothing was too much trouble. I would however like to make a special mention to Gabriel, who really made our stay outstanding. We can't wait to return! 22 April 2014

Our experience of the restaurant was very good at breakfast but the service for the evening meal was the worst we have ever experienced. We have since received a complimentary voucher for an overnight stay to compensate for this. 17 April 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Service - Disappointed with the food I was here on a conference through work and therefore had no choice of venue / lodgings. Throughout the three days the hotel staff were thorough, extremely professional and very helpful - nothing was too much trouble. The area of the hotel I was in (downstairs) was very quiet and I slept very well despite being next to the stairs which is usually quite a noisy place to be. Only two points of "negative" feedback would be firstly that my room smelt very strongly of bleach (usually a good thing) however when I got out of the shower, so did my towels - which caused me to have an allergic reaction upon using them. Secondly, the food was very "samey" and there was not an option to have something made without something - It's the first time I've had an issue where I had to ask the staff if they could make me something else as I can't eat Cheese and am not a vegetarian. The staff did their best to make something I could eat though. I can't comment on value for money as this was centrally booked and paid for. If someone were to want to be close to the city, in a quiet location with various ameneties - I'd definitely recommend it. The food was the only let down - but there is a pub not too far away if your experience is the same as mine. 13 April 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dinner service lets this hotel down Stayed at J7 for business and was pleased with the hotel overall. Reasonably well maintained room and the reception was inviting and modern. Having stayed for 2 nights dinner inclusive I was a little disappointed by the service. On the first night the staff were unsure of what was included within the inclusive package but I thought I would just order what I wanted and face the bill later. I was offered the buffet but it was quite late on and although I'm sure the food was fairly decent when it first went out, it looked a bit rough by the time I went to have a look. On the second night there were a number of very loud people in the restaurant and although this was not the fault of the hotel, on the basis that I was dining alone I would have appreciated being seated away from the extremely loud and obnoxious people. Breakfast service was fantastic, Lisa (I think that was her name) was amazing and made sure that everything ran smoothly. Poached eggs cooked to perfection and delicious pancakes. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Wedding blues ... Spent 2 nights here whilst working on a weekend. Unfortunately a wedding was on the Saturday which took over the main lounge area. With the bar in a separate adjoining room it was near impossible to get a drink or even space to drink it! Very noisy around the rooms mainly down to insonsiderate guests knocking on friends doors. Finally the pool is absolutely filthy! Needs a clean pronto. Only positive is the price and very accommodating staff! 09 April 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic place to stay Stayed here from April 2nd to 5th with my boyfriend & 4 kids, excellent hotel, staff very friendly & helpful, swimming pool was great bonus, give us something to do in the evenings,, honestly can't see why anyone would leave a bad complaint, tbh it must be snobs expecting 5 star accommodation for these cheap prices, I've paid well over triple the amount in apparently top notch hotels & wasn't as impressed as I was in this hotel!!! Price doesn't often reflect quality!!! I'd highly recommend anyone to stay here. Only thing I would say is it would've been great if breakfast was served til 10.30 instead of 9.30, my kids love their lie in's so had to drag them out of bed at 9 for breakfast lol Didnt even bother wakening my 3 year old & 6 month old on the last morning just took the older 2 down & took my lazy boyfriend his breakfast back to the room haha I thought the hotel was in the middle of nowhere but there's a couple of shops & takeaways in less than a 5 minute walk. Was very happy with my choice of hotel ;) 08 April 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not like a Holiday Inn I stay at many ihg hotels both in the UK and across the world. I have to say that this Holiday Inn was one of the worst I have stayed in. The room was noisy. possibly toobclose to a room service cupboard, but who has a washing machine or dryer going all night. The desk drawer with the hairdrier smelt really bad and was unusable. Breakfast was poor with coffee that we tepid. It really did not feel like a Holiday Inn. 06 April 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable stay In fact it would have been an excellent 5/5 stay had two things been a little speedier. Perhaps I'm wrong but I would have expected 2 receptionists, rather than one, on duty around 6pm on a Saturday evening. Admittedly the situation was made worse by some complications regarding one booking in the queue before us. Two on duty when we checked out at a relatively quiet 9:15 the following morning was a welcome change. The second delay was 20 minutes for a dessert to complete our otherwise acceptable dinner. One of the two ordered was a hot one, and perhaps it was prepared from 'scratch' as it was certainly the best apple crumble I've had in an hotel restaurant. If this was the reason and the norm, a word of warning either on the menu or by staff would have been welcomed. However the complimentary coffee from the very understanding staff was accepted with thanks. The actual J7 when approaching from the north and west is not the easiest to negotiate if it's your first ever encounter, but we shall certainly stay again if in the area. 02 April 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Experiance Spent 2 nights here in Ocober and regret it, no recodgnition as platinum elite status and none of my requests were met, i.e. wanted a non smoking room but got a smoking room, requested executive room got a standard, wanted a room close to reception but got one on the other side, etc. to add to this the room next door were having a party till the early hours and as such we were unable to sleep.My company are planning to send me here next week for business however i am seriously thinking of commuting instead. 01 April 2014

The staff are very helpful and accomodating. The bar and restaurant offers good food and there are many choices on the menu. Majority of the restaurant and bar staff are very good, one excells most, Gabriel as he is very helpful. 27 March 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel, great breakfast Stayed overnight in a family room. Arrived mid evening to a warm welcome & quick & painless check in. Room was clean & well sized, contained the usual coffee/tea making facilities & complimentary bathroom soaps etc! Comfy beds, plenty of pillows & a working tv remote. We opted for the self serve all you can eat breakfast (children eat for free) Great quality & choice of food, the kids especially enjoyed the automatic pancake making machine. First time we have stayed at a Holiday Inn & if they are all of this quality will definatley stay at one again. Warm & friendly staff. Thank you for making our stay a pleasant one. 26 March 2014
