Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Let down by the eggs I have only good things to say about my stay here, with the exception of the eggs at breakfast. For something as simple as frying an egg, the kitchen fails miserably. I was presented with a whole tray of fried eggs, perhaps 10-15 of the one eyed monsters . . . and there was not one that did not have the texture of a frisbee . . . the whites were leathery . . .the yolks were solid . . . the eggs had not been basted and the uncooked white covering the yolks had been baked to the texture of polythene by the hotplate lamps! Come on guys, frying an egg ain't difficult . . . it may not measure very highly in the grand scale of things . . . but a decent fried egg is an important part of a full english brekkie! 15 July 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable, clean and good value During our 3 night stay we found it very comfortable, clean and good value for money... Breakfast was lovely as well as self service.. During breakfast we found that getting the attention of staff a little difficult but once we were noticed they were helpful. All in all a great stay. Thank you. Will be back 10 July 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent staff The staff make this hotel. Lisa in the restaurant is a credit to the hotel and runs the restaurant with true professionalism. She is attentive, polite and an ambassador to the hotel. Chris Butler can not do enough for the guests and is also a credit to the hotel. Sonya at the front desk is always welcoming, polite and extremely helpful as are the bar staff, Mario, Gabriel, Ben, Matthew and the rest of the team. I would always recommend this hotel due to the excellent, professional service of the staff. They should all be commended on their professionalism. 08 July 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Poor night's sleep Mattress extremely uncomfortable with dip in middle. Advised staff. The hotel was fully booked so we couldn't change rooms. We were offered extra pillows and duvets to put on the bed. We were travelling from Scotland to Cornwall and stopped here for rest. Will not be using this hotel again. 08 July 2014

This hotel would be OK for anyone passing through, but for a longer stay I have my doubts, It was adequate in most respects but their pricing policy was a shambles and very poorly explained when encountered. The meals were disappointing and the time delays were too long. More attention is needed on the issue of Gluten intolerance in items available, The room we used had a non-operative shower and we had to ask for the spare bed to be made up despite the fact that we had booked the room for three people. Only two mugs were provided for making tea/coffee. Niggly little things that ought to be noticed. 06 July 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent def worth going We came to stay on the Sunday for my sons birthday, 2 adults and 2 children. We all had a fantastic time. the staff were all great especially the bar staff they were very welcoming and efficient. The food that was in our pakage was excellent., added bonus kids eat free. The breakfast was also a v high standard. There was a swimming pool , sauna and steam room included which was a added bonus. Overall our stay was pleasant and would def return in the future. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Poor food but nice hotel The breakfast was all fried. Please offer grilled or oven cooked items, offer poached eggs. We had a buffet evening meal and the food was edible but not good. portion size was ok if you do not like a lot of food, I had to fill up with salad. Water with bits floating about, they did change it (or so they said) but it still had bits floating about, they said it was from the lemon that was in the water, the lemon was only added to the 2nd lot?? Apart from that everything else was great. 03 July 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A two night break A free car park on arrival is always a plus these days, followed by a warm friendly welcome by reception made a great start to the weekend. Quite a walk to a very nice room with a courtyard view which provided a good nights sleep. Food was very good, breakfast probably better than dinner, but plenty of everything and continually being topped up. 03 July 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by In need of updating The price reflected the current state of the hotel which is in need of updating. The current crop of Holiday Inn Expresses are superior to this hotel. The rooms are small and the bathrooms even smaller. The lounge area was sectioned off for a function while we weree there but there were plenty of other function rooms available at the time. 02 July 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing Overnight Stay We spent one night at the Holiday Inn Birmingham, as part of a trip with our daughter to Drayton Manor and Thomas Land. The hotel is conveniently located just off the M6 at J7 and provided us with a good base to prepare for our trip the following day. Facilities are generally good at the hotel, though it's a shame there is no lift to access the bedrooms on the upper floors. Our room was very clean, tidy and comfortable and the bathroom, though in need of a little more attention around the tiles, was clean nonetheless. The leisure facilities are a useful and welcome addition and may not be the most modern but are generally in good order. The changing rooms and showers could do with an upgrade soon. Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful throughout so no problems there. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast with a good choice of bread, pastries, fruit, cheese, fruit juices, cereals, hot cooked items and pancakes! We will certainly visit again when we need a base in Central England or a stopover on a longer journey. 02 July 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Hotel We stayed at this hotel Sat 28th June with our 3 yr old son to vist Wonderland.We were greeted by Tracy at the reception who couldnt do enough to make us welcome all the staff especially the restaurant mob were friendly and bent over backwards to make our stay special.The food was amazing in The Olive Tree the hotel restaurant and the buffet breakfast on the morning had a fantastic selection of hot and cold food.The rooms were clean and comfotable. The hotel has an agreement with the adventure park Wonderland so all occupants receive free entrance this is accessed by a 5 min walk through the hotel grounds and at the back of the hotel.If you have little ones it is well worth a visit.If you want a break and to stay in a nice hotel reasonably priced with good food and freindly helpful staff in Telford then look no further than this one. 01 July 2014

Restaurant menu was extensive and appealing with very attentive staff and the food exceeded my expectations. Bar staff were friendly and unobtrusive creating the perfect ambience. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent overall but let down by poor bar area Our stay in this hotel was overall extremely good, with one reservation, until we were woken at 6.00am on a Sunday morning by the noisy people in the next room. The one reservation relates to the bar area - there were no chairs or tables in the bar and we were expected to take our drinks to an entirely soulless "lounge" area some distance away. 26 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wedding guest I recently attended a wedding at this venue and I have to admit to being very impressed with the overall attention to detail. The wedding was very well accommodated dispelling all my negative views on hotel weddings. The wedding party were made to feel that they were THE most important people in the hotel. The service was excellent the staff were incredibly polite, patient and always responded with a ‘can do’ attitude. Our accommodation/room was excellent. It was clean, towels were fluffy (as were the bath robes), and a good stock of beverages. We had an ironing board and iron (although we generally bring our own) and a refrigerator, which was very useful in the hot weather. The overall impression of the hotel (and conference facilities) was very positive and (although you may not need it) I would not hesitate to recommend this establishment for any function/conference or meeting. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable hotel We have visited this hotel s few times. It is convenient for us to visit friends and family. It's location off J7 of M6 is also good, though it should be noted that J7 is quite a difficult one to negotiate. It's design leaves much to be desired. No fault of the hotel of course. Particular note that we have always found the staff friendly and helpful, which means a lot. Not all hotels manage this. One small criticism (no-one can be perfect) it was difficult to get coffee/tea served on the Saturday morning. Staff were very busy. Breakfast buffet was very good 24 June 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Room and Service The general standards here are acceptable but on too many occasions the room service is poor. The food is cold or incorrect and the lack of cutlery at times is annoying. On this occasion the room smelled of smoke and was not satisfactorily dealt with. The staff are generally very good and polite and the rooms very clean but they need to work on the room service menu and food service. 16 June 2014
