Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by We always stay here when visiting relatives ...and are very happy with everything, however this time I am sorry to say that breakfast and breakfast service has deteriorated. It was busy as it was Half Term, and we attended breakfast half an hour from the finish, both days, as we used the leisure centre first, but it was noticeable that items ran out- my favourite yoghurt and fruit compote was empty the first day and the pastries were gone on the second. The menus still reference pancakes but the pancake machine has been out of order for probably a year. Also there felt like there has been a change of approach from the staff. Plates and dishes were not getting removed between courses anymore and despite there being plenty of staff, tables were not getting cleared. We struggled to find a fresh table to sit at both days. Under the previous restaurant manager we always appreciated friendly attentive service during breakfast. That was missing this time. Having said all of that the comfort of the rooms and the benefit of the leisure facilities, as well as the proximity to family, means that we will continue to stay here. Thanks 24 February 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Family break This hotel offered good value especially as kids eat free and we were a party of 2 adults and 3 kids. Whilst the bedrooms were tired, this didn't matter for a family group although I would have been disappointed if I had been staying by myself and looking for a bit of something special. The put -u- up sofa beds were not fit for purpose - far to hard but fortunately the kids seemed quite happy to "camp" on the floor instead. All members of staff we came across were very polite and helpful. 24 February 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by very friendly hotel, Good leisure facilities. Stay regularly as it is very close to motorway network. Friendly staff. Rooms and bathrooms often look very tired at the moment. Bar/restaurant satisfactory but room service can be hit or miss, sometimes cold. Good leisure centre facilities. Can be very noisy at times for business travellers as lots of children staying. Overall, nice friendly, functional hotel and that's why I am a returning guest. 23 February 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Second and absolutely last visit! This was my second visit. My first was not enjoyable owing to reception not explaining how I, as a Platinum Member, could access free wifi in my room. Simply handing you a voucher giving 3 choices: Guest, Business User and Lounge Access does not help! Obviously you try the guest option. There you find there are charges payable. After complaining to reception and then the Manager later by email, I discovered one has to access through the "Lounge" option. Now that hardly makes sense! We are not in the Lounge, but our rooms! This visit was horrendous. Half Term! Never again! The 2 families in adjoining rooms thought it acceptable to let their children run riot, charging down the corridor, banging doors constantly, The incessant banging of doors puzzled me, until I discovered that both families had put the latch on so both room doors were not closed. Apart from the noise and irritation to other guests, think of the security issue! Children in rooms with the door open and adults absent. On the second night, as I had a colleague visiting me, I felt I had to complain to reception. At 515 on Saturday 21 Feb I phoned the front desk. No reply. Second time I was connected. After complaining at length, I was then told I would have to speak to the Duty Manager. More repetition! I was then put on hold and waited. Nothing. I then hung up and expected a call back; after all, reception knew my room number. No Duty Manager phoned. I can only presume that this was the same Duty Manager last time who failed to ring me back about the wifi problem! Atrocious customer service. And as an afterthought, where are the bonus points that are offered on arrival for Reward members? ? The same receptionist as last time told me they take 7 to 10 days to reach an account. It is over a month since I last stayed here. 200 points is nothing, but it is just another irritating IHG problem. 22 February 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing family break Family break with 2 children. The room was comfortable with enough space for the children and was clean overall. However there was a lingering smell from the bathroom (needs a deep clean). Swimming pool nice and warm, changing areas adequate but showers need maintenance (black mould) Breakfast was good but the evening meal was very poor. Service very slow despite being very quiet and the waitress was extremely rude and disrespectful. 20 February 2015
