Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by pd0001xx nice room but disappointing overall
My dad had booked the room for me as a treat for my birthday as a trip away. Upgraded room which had a good size bed. However, was woken up around 7am by knocking on the walls, then followed by drills and THEN the fire alarm went off, not quite how I expected to wake up on my birthday.
The restaurant is awful, very dark and gloomy, no light in there at all and very cramped. There is also no sound, so no atmosphere. Considering other Holiday Inns I have stayed at, this was extremely disappointing to say the least. The only positive was the lovely waitress.
Quality of food was average, would highly recommend eating elsewhere.

This hotel is perfect for a short stay in Birmingham. Train Station is a 2 minute walk away. The Bullring shopping area is 2 minutes away. There are great new restaurants popping up all around the area. Loved Turtle Bay !!
Room at the hotel is a good size with lovely large windows - so lots of light. Bed and pillows all very comfie. Lighting is also good. Staff are all courteous, friendly and efficient.
Would definitely stay there again. Looking forward to seeing changes post construction.

Not cheap enough to make it a good deal. It might be quiter during the week but at weekends expect people to be stumbling in corridor in early hours. Currently being refurbished downstairs but doubt it will make much improvement.
