Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice New Menus I felt really welcome when Sebastian greeted me by name on arrival at the hotel despite not having stayed there for a while. I was pleased to find a new menu at the Holiday Inn Filton, and prices seem similar to the previous so it's nice to see that the updated menu hasn't resulted in increased prices which is often the case. A member of staff in the bar explained that he was new to the job which was appreciated as you can then be more patient when placing an order. I'll be back again soon. 01 December 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beyond our expectations! Staff went out of their way to be helpful and to treat guests with respect. At breakfast there was an amazing choice of food that would satisfy most peoples requirements. The indoor pool was popular having a temperature of 29 degrees centigrade, and the gym had a variety of exercise apparatus, both free for the use of hotel guests. Most popular free-view TV channels were available, but an additional selection of TV channels, films and Wi-Fi were available at extra cost. The grounds were spacious and included a landscaped area with an ornamental pool, and there is a children's play area and adventure playground on the opposite side of the building. The car park was well lit during the hours of darkness. The weather was cold outside during our stay, but the temperature in the room although not particularly warm, was acceptable. The temperature controller on the wall in the room did not appear to be functional. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. 27 November 2013

Thank you to all the staff for their helpfulness with our queries for future stays with children, geniune interest was taken and such a smooth stay has never been achieved before in other hotels. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice place Just a quick one!! Really nice staff. Amenities great, food good (only had the breakfast, but they had a pancake maker which was fab!), and nice bar area. Rooms were good, with A/C, nice bed, clean, and all that was stated in the package. The only negative was the bathroom, were I had an argument with the shower curtain causing a minor flood. Resolved with the fluffy hand towels, and extreme care the next day. All in all... very good. 27 November 2013

Nice large tv and mini fridge in the room. Disappointed with the fact that some holiday inns still charge for wi-fi. At least one of your competitors give a free half hour! 21 November 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service Arrived late and desk only attended by trainee who could not find a member of staff. People at the bar complaining as there was nobody to serve them but when trainee called the mobile phone the phone was on the desk. Eventually (20 minutes waiting), the member of staff came in and no word of apologise, no recognition of members (such as upgrade or internet connection). I had the tiniest and most tired looking room that I have seen in a long time but at a massive nightly cost!!! I thought I seen it all but the wait for the check out was 15 minutes! I will never go in this hotel again. 19 November 2013

Our room as always was warm, comfortable and clean. the chocolate is a bonus!. On this occasion we ate in the restaurant and had a very enjoyable dinner. Breakfasts are good, the chef makes a good omelette!. We shall return. 13 November 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by All you can eat breakfast....fantastic! Location....mmmm! Our group of 6 stayed at Holiday Inn Filton for 2 nights B&B. We had 2 twin rooms and one double. All rooms were clean and comfortable. The all you could eat breakfast was fantastic! We all enjoyed a swim and sauna in the hotels leisure club. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only drawback for our group was the location of the hotel. We didn't have a car so we had to rely on taxis to and from Bristol Parkway railway station and to visit family in Southmead. On the map it didn't look very far, but we didn't realise the road layouts are quite complicated around Filton. There are a few dual carriageways which you have to travel for a mile in the "wrong" direction before you can turn to travel to your destination. This made the taxi fares considerably more than what we had budgeted for. 08 November 2013

Over £9 for a large glass of wine is far too expensive for a fairly standard sort of wine, for a hotel in Bristol. Would expect to pay this sort of price in London. 03 November 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Room Access I was placed in a twin room number 112. I think I arranged a double bed but did not wish to make an issue of this. I arrived, left most of my gear, went to meet my colleagues and returned about two hours later. I was concerned to find that the doors between my room and room 111 were wide open!! I checked and my luggage seemed all OK. I went to the Reception, the girl was not very bothered, I asked why they were open, again not bothered!! She did say she would send someone to lock the doors and a young man arrived next door. obviously I could see him, and he struggled to close the door. So I set about closing the door on my side before he came round to lock it. It was not easy, the fit was very tight. I succeeded and he locked it. So no harm done - no explanation was forthcoming!! The whole matter was just shrugged off. WHY 30 October 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor service i always stay in hoilday inn hotels,due to my work acrossed the country,but this was the worst one i have ever stayed in,i ordered room service and not all my order come,there was no soup,so i had to eat my main first,my main was only luke warm,when i wanted to contact room service again no one picked up the phone i try and tryed with no joy,so i tryed contacting reception again no one picked up the at all in the end i just gave up,one of the lights in the room did not work,overall it was a bad experience. 24 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Peace and Tranquility. This is the first time we have stayed at Holiday Inn Filton despite visiting Bristol regularly to visit family. On arrival we were welcomed by very pleasant staff who quickly explained the facilities available. Our room on the third floor was very clean, comfortable, quiet, with all the complimentary items, overlooking landscaped gardens and lakes. The only criticism was that the bed was only a 4ft bed despite having preference recorded for King Size. Putting that aside we will stay again, and recommend to family and friends. 23 October 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great value We stayed for 1 night with our 2 1/2 year old son. Overall a good stay, with good facilities and the room was clean. It would have been an excellent stay if I'd slept better... our room was on same side as the function room with horrible karaoke going on until 1am. Then when that finished the minibar in our room appeared to intermittently have to recharge which, in the middle of the night sounded like a small plane taking off! Having said this both my partner and son slept through the whole thing so maybe I'm being sensitive but it did leave me feeling a little irritated and tired in the morning! 23 October 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad service and food I stay in the Bristol area regularly and at this hotel as the location suits. However, this hotel is going downhill quickly. My recent stay was very dissapointing. Food was basic, overpriced and not particularly tasty. Staffing levels were such that basic as going yo the bar took over 30 min. I,m not blaming the staff, just the lack of them. 20 October 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A nice welcome back This was my 6th visit to Filton Holiday Inn. It was a very nice surprise to find a bottle of wine and a card welcoming us back. The hotel is a great base for discovering Bristol. My family love the hotel leisure centre, it's nice to be able to have a swim after a day out and about. My only niggle with our recent stay was with the guests at a wedding that was being held there. There were quite young children roaming around the corridors in the hotel and outside our room until quite late in the evening. Their parents were nowhere to be seen but obviously not the hotels fault just inconsiderate people. We will definitely not let it put us off staying again when next in the area. 16 October 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Firendly service & comfortable room Actually surprised how good the Holiday Inn was. I was at the hotel on business & not used Holiday Inn's for some time. Hotel was modern, clean & comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Plenty of parking. Overall, a very pleasant stop over. My only minor negative was the continental breakfast. I always prefer breakfast in my room. On this occassion the breakfast was delivered spot on my preferred time (most hotels are totally hit or miss on this!). However, toast was a little cold & the bowl for my cereal had been forgotten. Not major showstoppers but notable given the rest of the stay was first class. 16 October 2013

One of our party had the misfortune to choose the pork escalope which was very tough and therefore difficult to eat. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor service and experience i was booked in the Holiday Inn Filton and was due to arrive late. I phoned reception to let them know of late arrival. they responded by informing me the booking system has had problems and the hotel was full and they had booked me into the nearest Express by HI. Not acceptable. I was offered a refund due to the inconvenience but I was on a business trip so my company benefit for my inconvenience and not me. Express by HI offered free wifi thruogh out the hotel but even though you pay a lot more for HI you have to pay for wifi. The restaurant at HI Filton was also a poor experince, long wait times for food and very poor environment. I you can see I had a poor experience with my last booking and I have already booked 2 nights in Express By HI in Croydon and I am thinking of cancellig and booking else where. My company use IHG world wide due to the points awards but if this carries on we shall look for another group of hotels. NOT HAPPY! 08 October 2013
