Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staff The stay was wonderful, apart from sunday lunch at the bar, one of the bar staff was very rude to members of our group and told off a member of staff in front of some of us, we felt that what had gone wrong was not that member of staff fault, otherwise the staff where wonderful. 04 September 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not impressed Stayed here for one saturday night, was not really impressed. It is just a glorified, less cheaper, chain hotel, but double the price. In fact beds are more comfortable in these competitors! Although cleanliness is good, beds are not very comfortable, and poor sleep, as noise from people walking in rooms above woke us up, poor insulation. Although the website advertised an inclusive afternoon punting on the Cam, this was not the case, and the receptionists did not seem to know anything about this. Information re buses into Cambridge was conflicting from front desk staff, and this bus service was poor, therefore would not recommend anyone without a car. or anyone who does not want to pay high car park fees in Cambridge to stay here. 03 September 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Family holiday at Holiday Inn Cambridge Summer 2014 For the second year running we chose to stay at Holiday Inn Cambridge. The facilities are ideal, we made use of the Swimming Pool, Gym and the location was ideal being on the edge of Cambridge. The food was excellent and the menu offered various choices which suited all members of the family. The staff were very helpful and we had a good experience throughout the stay. 01 September 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet Room and a Good Nights Sleep Stayed for 4 nights over the August Bank Holiday and found this a very relaxing hotel to stay in with a very pleasant room and the hotel had good services with attentive staff. There was only one odd thing and that was the bar didn't stock any brandy! Very strange. 28 August 2014

Family room was great large very clean ( a little dated maybe) very comfortable. pool was fantastic (a little cold for the youngest) and had an outside play area for the kids. Eveninmg dinner was great., All round great service will definately stay again. Well done. 26 August 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing Menu and Restaurant This hotel is a really nice comfortable Holiday Inn. It is badly let down by its restaurant. If you stay here I would suggest eating out as the menu is poor with not much choice and the food is very average quality. In saying all this the staff in the hotel and particularly in the restaurant are superb and really want to ensure you have a quality experience. Please do something positive with the menu. 23 August 2014

Drinks were not cheap but wide selection available. The breakfast was ok but book online for best price. Look carefully at your bill at the end of your stay, it's a busy place with lots of rooms and mistakes can be made. 23 August 2014

It cost us £16.00 for 6 of us in a taxi to get into Cambridge city centre which was fine and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a cheaper hotel than Cambridge Centre prices 21 August 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mixed Feelings The hotel is near to the motorway, and about 15 mins into Cambridge. You can get a bus into Cambridge the stop is only 5 mins walk from the hotel and the drivers are helpful. It is a 25 min walk down into a small village with a few nice pubs where you can get a nice meal the Rose and Crown was very friendly but you need to book if you want to eat as it gets very busy. We had a executive room which had a mini bar but we would of rather had it empty for our own use, I think it would be better if you were asked prior to your stay if you want a stocked mini bar. I dont think I would pay for an executive room again as I don't think the difference is worth it. The so called luxury toiletries included a shoe shine and sewing kit which I could of done without!! We didn't get slippers and I don't really see why I should point this out if it is standard, the toilet didn't flush very well, waiting around 20 mins for it to refill, I reported this on check out, if we would of reported it after a few hours of arrival we would of had maintenance in the room or had to move room, both being a bind. Some of the staff in the restaurant at breakfast were quite rude, if you were stood at the coffee machine one waitress would push past you and not walk around, the lady cooking the eggs, stood there cooking them for about 20 mins what is the point of having an egg station if they are not cooked to your liking, one man asked if she did omlettes etc and she said no she has enough to do but he could order one, which I don't think he heard and walked away. Some people were looking around for plates etc and the staff wouldn't notice! The staff at the leisure facilities were helpful and the facilites were nice to use. The bar man was also nice and chatty some of the reception staff were also a bit off but others were ok. You got the overall feeling that staff morale was low. I don't think I would use this Holiday Inn again and can say they are not all like this we have usually found staff very friendly and made your stay. 18 August 2014

Pool was child friendly, as was the restaurant, so we both had a good swim and dinner. Only problem with sleep was a door gap at the bottom of the door that let in too much light from the corridor, but beds very comfortable. 14 August 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Consistent Standard We have stayed in many Holiday Inns and this is certainaly one of the best. It is in a pleasant semi rural setting on the outskirts of Cambridge but with good transport links to the centre. The room was clean and comfortable. The facilities in the hotel were excellent. The service was of the high standard we have come to expect of all Holiday Inns. The waitresses deserve a particular mention being efficient but at the same time chatty and showing a genuine interest in us. We would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone contemplating a visit to Cambridge. 13 August 2014

The staff were great, attentive and friendly, however the food left a lot to be desired, as it appeared to be commercially produced, not freshly prepared. Not what we expected at these prices. Four star prices, two star quality. The room was a little tired, and the fridge did not work. 10 August 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Holiday Inn The overall feel of the Holiday Inn was good. The rooms felt a little dated and could do with some modernising but only from an esthetic point of view. The choice of TV channels could have been better and although it is not any fault of the Holiday Inn I really struggled to get any mobile reception within the hotel (Vodafone). The staff were friendly and helpful but breakfast did feel a little chaotic with too many staff on hand. 04 August 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and good people working at Holiday Inn I have stayed at the Cambridge HI every week since Jan 2014. The staff are very good, but sometimes the welcome and room service is not what you would like to expect. Sometimes small details are forgotten such as register points for IHG, Paper, Alarm Calls not happening when requested. 24hour items on menu are not available because the Chef has gone home! The rooms could also do with a refresh. Many of them look a little tired around the edges. The menu has pretty much stayed the same in this time as well. Having said that overall it is a pleasant experience. 04 August 2014

Little ambiance in the place and staffed predominantly by eastern Europeans only just learning English. A real disappointment was the restaurant, where tables are crammed in and there is insufficient space to move about at Breakfast. Formulaic hotel being passed off at premium prices. 22 July 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay We were there for one night only for the start of the Tour de France the next morning. We checked in late which was effortless and quick. The hotel was busy but we did not feel rushed. The room only had one bed and we wanted two so a gentleman was sent within 15 minutes to make up the sofa bed. He was pleasant and happy to help. The bar was busy but we enjoyed a couple of quiet drinks. The room was clean and comfortable for our one night stay, also quiet which is always a bonus in a hotel. It's a convenient location for Cambridge, with a bus stop literally across the street to take you into the city centre. Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it. 17 July 2014
