Well done again guys.
You seem to soak up anything I throw your way.
I brought my family down as it was half term and thought that they would enjoy a few days away. And that they did!
Reception staff greeted my 2 year old son as if he was the paying guest which made him feel very special, the pool, the kids play area and also the bar and lounge area are great and secure for kids and he thoroughly enjoyed his time away. The wife enjoyed the accommodation and time off to relax.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Matt2012 What a good start to the week!
Wayne and the team at Cambridge have really got this nailed down.
I arrived to a warm smile as is always expected and promptly allocated my very tidy and warm room (especially in the current weather this was important) its amazing how little things like the temperature of the room matter when checking in.
The breakfast each day is a joy with very friendly staff and well cooked bacon (always a must!) Poitr and the girls are so accomodating and even though they are always buzzing about they always make the time to have a quick chat if you want to!
well done guys
Keep it up!

Booked this hotel for the Restaurant as I knew I would be checking in after a long business day and yet another one tomorrow
So was not happy to be told restaurant closed for private party & I have just missed the bar meals. So after explaining Nothing had informed me about the restaurant. They offered room service from a good menu.
I then went to my room to find two single beds and not my booked double. Again after ringing reception. We were moved to a double room but on the way lead by a porter, we were told it might be loud until midnight due to party!
Again after explaining I was at this hotel to eat & sleep on a long business weekend of long hours!!
I was told my room would be fine for noise and our meal & wine would now be free and order anything we wish
The food was good and the wine but the noise of the party was loud and kept myself awake until 1am with guests returning to rooms
Again mentioned this in the early morning of leaving the hotel for Work! And also received discount from my hotel bill
So actions were taken but can't say I will go back to this hotel, just too many mistakes from booking it to leaving
Shame as always use holiday inns around the country
Oh almost forgot they might of given me discount but then didn't add my points Nice!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Athletica Lovely place to relax
My mum and I spent a lovely weekend together (our first ever). The location was brilliant, very close to the park and ride which made shopping in cambridge easy.
The breakfast and dinner were lovely (good variety of gluten intolerance but nothing for dairy intolerance) - though next time I'll let you know of my dietary requirements well in advance.
The staff were helpful and friendly.
The room was of very good quality - clean, comfortable, a good size, with tea and coffee making facilities, the shower lovely and hot. The room was lovely and quiet with no noise from other rooms.
My mum and I are now planning our next girlie weekend together for Summer - this time we will do less shopping and more relaxing in the pool and gym.
Thank you for a lovely stay. See you in June/July.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is close to the Park and Ride (which we used twice). The drive into Cambridge and access to the A14 is also easy. There was plenty of room in the well-lit hotel carpark. Our room was clean and spacious, with plenty of storage space, and was very quiet (as we requested when we booked). The swimming pool was attractive and clean and I enjoyed a quiet morning swim. The breakfast was the highlight - an excellent choice of hot and cold meals, cereals, fruits, pastries etc and such a friendly, cheerful lady at the servery, who clearly loves her job. She was even cooking eggs at the counter, to order. Staff in the restaurant were very pleasant indeed.

Well done to the team at Cambridge!
Staff in the Lounge Bar were friendly, apporachable, and overall good at service this week. with particular mentioning of a male member of staff called Ashley behind the bar.
He took the time to welcome me and have a brief discussion whilst promptly serving my drinks and food.
When staying away from home buisness users get very little to enjoy from some hotels and this type of service makes it much easier to settle in to new surroundings.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Matt2012 Resturaunt was shut!
The hotel had obviously had a busy Christmas and due to this the resturaunt was not open until the 7th Jan.
The staff were very friendly and although seemed to be under pressure at the bar serving meals they were very apologetic when waiting for our food for what seemed to be an age!!
Not too much of an issue for me as i had nothing else to do though.

Your member of the front desk team (Lucie) was exceptional and conducted herself to a level far exceeding holiday inns reputation.
Lucie was helpful, managed a problem without hesitation and made the stay run smoothly.
I rarely write hotel reviews as staying over 100 nights in hotels over the past year you meet many people and you can't always remember but I feel compelled to highlight this extremely professional member of your team.
Fast tack this lady to top managment before a headhunter from a more prestigious hotel chain challenges Lucie with a role which suits her capability.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by pinkK Loads of potential to be a Five Star Review
The location of the hotel is super, free parking, recently modernized, delicious fresh fruit and coffee at breakfast. The pool spa and exercise machines were super and the housekeeping service effective and discreet. The room, with two double beds was perfect for our family of four and good value for money..
Unfortunately there is no lift for guests so we had to drag four heavy bags up a flight of stairs.
There is no free Internet connection so I opted for the GBP70.00 for 7 days. I knew this would be available before I booked but I did not realize that this would only allow us to have 2 connections from the room. The connection type prevented us using our two connections as a hub for our Ipads and computers. We are a family of four, that travel extensively, each with their own smartphone and computer/Ipad and in similar hotels purchase one connection which the whole family can share.
The receptionist informed me that they do not have anything to do with the Internet connection, which is run by an outside company and could not tell me how I could purchase an additional two connections but did provide some "lounge connections".
I therefore had to purchase one more connection online for GBP70.00 but this only provided one connection. GBP120.00 for three connections is expensive and a positive disincentive to us returning to the hotel again.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the whole period of our visit from 24 December - 2 January leaving just the option of the bar menu. In addition the fridge in the room (335) had been condemned further limiting the availability of snacks and drinks.

Visited for the weekend for Christmas shopping and it was there Christmas party nights. We were out in a room at the rear of the hotel and could not hear a thing. The restaurant was closed but room service was available and it was absolutely superb! The food was cooked and presented beautifully and tasted delicious. The staff in the restaurant at breakfast were friendly and attentive and the food could not be faulted.
Access to Cambridge city centre is easy with a park and ride only 5 minutes drive away, with regular buses running until approx 8.30pm.
We will definitely be staying here again in the future and would recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone.

Thanks-we will be back

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Fred10 pleasant hotel
Having booked this hotel on the internet( and having stayed before), it was disappointing that my wife & son were unable to eat in the hotel on the night as we had planned ( i was in a business meeting in Cambridge). This was because there was a Xmas party on that night meaning that the restaurant was closed and the only bar service was to sit in reception until 8 when a noisy Xmas party was about to start. This meant they had to eat out in Cambridge & get a taxi back.
I did raise this issue with the manager the following day who offered me a 50% discount when we next stay which I thought was very reasonable. It was not the hotel's fault but rather the general bookng site which should have warned usof this.
The hotel itself is 2 miles from the city centre & is very pleasant and in lovely surroundings. It is also a lot cheaper than the hotels in the city

Only One problem with staying in December, This Hotel holds external group xmas parties,on Saturday nights,so the whole ground floor area reception, foyer, bar is compleated packed we had to push through the party people to get to the corridor to our room. You can not use the Bar ect, And you will not sleep untill after midnight due to the very loud disco music, Thump Thump in your room.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MrsE2012 Excellent hotel
We stayed here 2 nights on a xmas trip to Cambridge. The hotel was very easy to find and in a nice quiet location. We got the bus into Cambridge (roughly 15 mins to the centre), the receptionist told us where to get it from, just a 5 minute walk away. Very simple.
The hotel itself was very comfortable, we were given a family room which was huge. 2 double beds and a settee. The bathroom was very nice and the shower worked well, plenty of power. It was very quiet, the only problems for me with regards to sleeping were the fridge which was quite noisy (I would have liked to have been able to turn it off) and the amount of light that came from the doorframe. The curtain was great, blackout material, velcroed sides to the wall so no light got in. But if you're a light sleeper like me you'll appreciate that the light coming from the door was annoying. I put a towel infront of it which blocked some of the light.
But apart from that the room was great. We had pre-booked breakfast as well which was a buffet and pretty much anything you could want. My husband also used the pool and said it was very good and bigger than ones he's used in other hotels. We would defintely stay here again if we were in the area.

Stayed in this hotel several times but this time was not as good as usual.
Despite me putting my Priority Club number on the booking as normal it wasn't recognised and I didn't feel that I was treated the same which is a little disconcerting.

I was surprised to find that I had been allocated a Disabled Room and when Reception called to see if all was OK, I mentioned this. I was told that rooms are allocated randomly as guests arrive. I said I didn't wish to take a Disabled Room from someone who may need it. I was offered a change of room but had unpacked by this time. I went to the restaurant for dinner, having read the menuy displayed at the entrance to it. but the menu I was given when I sat down was slightly different. Seemed to be a Summer Menu! I ordered beef pie with parsnips and horseradish, served with mash and broccoli but it had no parsnip in it! The young waiter had difficulty in understanding my order, not because he was foreign but because he just wasn't on Receive mode. He came back twice to check drink and food order. When my plate was cleared, by another waiter, I was asked if that was all and I said no, I'd like to see the menu again to order dessert and coffee. He brought it to me, but nobody had returned after 15/20 minutes so I gave up and left. Some time later the Restaurant Mgr came to where I was standing in Reception and apologised that I had been neglected. He said he'd refund the dinner. The restaurant was very quiet when I arrived, but got very busy after.

smart hotel- nice bar and service- reception welcoming but room absolutely boiling!. Radiator was on full when we arrived which we turned off. When we came back after an evening out- the room was still unbearably hot. Spent the night on top of the bed with the window open

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JoanIe79 Perfect location
The hotel is perfectly positioned for us to visit family easily. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms could use some updating and was surprised that there was no lift. Paying £10 a day for Internet is an outdated and expensive option. Most hotels include free connection in with the room charge. The rooms are expensive if you do not book in advance and this creates a sour taste when guests are asked to pay even more for what in most places is not an extra. Housekeeping staff were very helpful and worked around our different schedule each day we were there to make sure our room was cleaned. Overall experience was good and will definitely be back.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by CP1973 Average hotel outside Cambridge City Center
I have stayed in this hotel a lot of times since this is my company's preferred hotel in Cambridge.
The location is fine for a short stay where you need access to Cambridge Science Park or Cambridge Business Park, but for longer stays I would recommend to stay in the city centre. The main reason is that the surroundings are boring - nothing to see especially in the evening. The hotel have - however - very good facilities in terms of fitness and swimming.
Food is average - not more. Internet access is very expensive (unless you have a special deal). No privileges to Priority Club members - except a letter, which tells you that you are very welcome...
A final advice: If you are taller than 1.60m (which most adult people are) and like to stand up in the shower, make sure that you do not get a handicap friendly room.

My husband and I and two children had a wonderful stay at the holiday Inn at the end of October. The facilities were great with a very nice swimming pool which was very clean and enjoyed by us all three times in three days. Breakfast was one of the best I have enjoyed in a hotel. We had a buffet meal in the hotel on the first night and the salad bar etc was wonderful. Great variety, fresh and tasty. Hot buffet meal was not quite as appealing on the eye but still tasted good. Beds were comfortable and family room spacious. Funiture a little bit dated but not a problem. We all slept well in our beds and all had a lovely time thank you. Good advice from staff about where to park in Cambridge and directions to the park and ride. Would come back again and strongly recommend. We were also grateful for the fact that the children ate for free and they have good appetities so this was a real bonus.

We got a good deal and had a large famly rom with 2 double beds, a sofa bed and we fitted in a cot. Man of the rooms were ground floor which is good and a nice pool and spa to relax in, with a sauna (but not a steam room).
Excellent breakfast, really easy parking. The hotel is not in town but for us it was perfect, and will definitely book again.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by jonny2003 Unclean bathroom and sloppy service
The room itself was fine as were the liesure facilities for our 1 night stay. But when we went to our room late in the evening, we found the bathroom floor was unclean (body hair).
Later, before turning in, we saw the offer of soft pillows; so tried to phone, but phone not working. So trogged to the reception, explained issue and what I wanted and she promised to sort it out. 20 mins later, nothing; went back to reception; new shift, knew nothing about request then found it on scrap of paper. Finally pillows wrere delivered but phone never mended. AT NO TIME was any serious apology made, or even a gesture like dropping the cost of the wi-fi (which is extortionately expensive). We were on a Sunday night special price but still came away dissatisfied.
