Very convenient in terms of location, car parking, easy to access.
The room was very clean and all the services/amenities were absolutely fine.
The only issue was the noise insulation that on a Saturday night was of a bit of discomfort because of a group of youths in close rooms.
Dining service was reasonable and quality of the food was high, despite a limited menu choice.
Reception personnel was kind, quick, and very well prepared. I would come back, but possibly on a top floor room.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spangles67 Good hotel for an overnight stay
I stayed overnight here with my daughter. We found the room to be OK but rather tired with the carpet near the bathroom door very worn. However, it was clean and the beds were very comfortable. Food at breakfast was buffet style with a good variety and cooked well.

Ideally located, making it accessible to the city centre and other places to explore Cardiff. I had a stunning room view, over looking the stadium.

We only stay at this hotel because of its location. If there was an alternative we would stay there instead. The "refurbished" room we stayed in was bad. We commented that the non-refurbished rooms must be really bad. This is the worst IHG hotel we stay at. Breakfast is not as good as a lot of greasy spoons that we have stopped at on our travels. This hotel needs some serious TLC and the constant turnover of staff tells the real story.

Pleasent staff, nice greeting on arrival. Overall a nice hotel, and a good location to visit Cardif centre, short taxi ride to harbour. Bar prices a little pricey - £7.50 for a large glass of wine. Tip - ask for a large bathroom, the bath was too close to the toilet in my room - which would have been awkward for a person with minor mobility issues.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mike2125 Short visit to Cardiff
The hotel has an excellent position for the amenities in the city being directly opposite the castle and within shouting distance of the rugby stadium. The impressive shopping centre is only a 10 minute walk away.
The hotel itself is very clean and tidy with a variety of rooms which do require some refurbishment to bring them up to modern standards. having said that our room was quite comfortable.
We only ate breakfast there, which is the usual full English, self serve but it was tasty and the selection good.
Overall a good experience and would certainly go there again.

Great overnight stay at Holiday Inn Cardiff! Reception were extremely helpful in getting us settled and pointing out local tourist sites. Look forward to staying there again.
