On check in I was offered a room upgrade which put us on the top floor with a nice view over the River Taff. Being so high up we experienced very little street noise. The hotel is located right beside the Millennium stadium so it would be very convenient for rugby weekends, and it is also opposite Cardiff Castle and Bute Park.
Overall the staff were very friendly and helpful, but I must single out Loretta in the bar and restaurant - she is a very hard worker, the service she provides is second to none and she is always smiling and pleasant.
My only issue is with the limited opening hours of the restaurant. We had to eat in the bar as we had events booked for the evenings we were staying there, and the restaurant was closed when we left and also when we returned. I'd have liked it to be open from 5pm in the evenings. Also, the bar area is very small for the size of the hotel and it can be difficult to find a seat. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay very much.

The Hotel is excellently placed for city / rugby visit.
Clean comfortable rooms. Street noise is audible if you have a hotel room on the front.
the room was signed as just having been refurbished, but the sink in the bathroom had a lot of chips in and was obviously not part of the upgrade.
Bed was comfy, food for breakfast was excellent.
would stay here again
