Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff and Food can't compensate for run-down and overpriced hotel The staff were always attentive, friendly and very welcoming. They even had complimentary cookies as I came home on some afternoons. The adjoining "Sporting News" restaurant likewise had a great breakfast menu and very efficient staff. However, the rooms themselves were aged and tired. The showers had poor water pressure, and would slip from hot to cold without warning. The main room was poorly lit. The heater was old and poorly functioning. It was all just a little bit depressing. Everyone was so warm and friendly, and the rooms were just cold and tired. Maybe it just needed a fresh coat of paint, but it wasn't a happy place to wake up in. 18 November 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I'll certainly stay here again Was in the area to visit my daughter at Hofstra. This hotel is about 10 minutes from campus, and very close to many restaurants and shops. Staff was fantastic - pleasant and helpful and efficient! Hotel is older than many of the H. I. in which I stay, but its clean and in fairly good shape. They could probably use a few more parking spaces, but I was always able to find one. I've stayed here before when visiting my daughter, and will certainly be back. 18 November 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Greeting The evening front desk staff was the best I'd ever been welcomed by. The young lady that checked me in was the most sincere and genuinely friendly person I'd ever met at any IHG property. The whole front desk staff was introduced and made sure I knew that if I had any issues to just call them. Normally I'd say this was just good training, and I know it was, but they all went above and beyond and made me feel really welcomed at your hotel. From one that is a diehard IHG customer; the best I can say is WOW! 15 November 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by visit 10 Nov Thanks for a great stay. Staff was courteous and efficient. Room was nicely maintained with everything in place. Bed and linens comfortable. I left a jacket behind and called from Hofstra to check lost and found. Staff member was going to check. Called back 15min later and nothing was found. oh well thanks for checking. I went for lunch and an hour later found myself passing by the hotel so thought I'd check in. No still nothing. Then I saw the jacket behind the check-in desk. So not a Big Deal, I understand this can be confusing, but thought I'd mention it. Maybe there is opportunity to improve lost item procedures? Didn't want to diminish the fact that we had a nice stay and staff was very nice and otherwise efficient! 15 November 2014
