Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Recent Stay Compared to other Holiday Inns I have stayed in before, this has got to be the worst. If this had been my first experience then I would not be looking to stay in one again. I have used the Holiday Inn in Lafayette a couple of times and the difference between that hotel and this is beyond compare - one is a great place to stay and the other is in NJ. Serious investment is needed to make this a better experience but it looks like they get full due to location, so why try harder? August 21, 2015

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Needs some TLC - average hotel I must start by saying although the hotel is very average, the staff is very pleasant and professional. The rooms are average but clean. The hallways are pretty bad. They need some rehab. The location of the hotel is interesting. The road that the hotel is on is a one way street that is essentially the off ramp of I95 and is a little hard to navigate. If you stay at this hotel for a few nights, you sort of get to know the correct streets and turns to make to enter the hotel. This hotel seems like an older hotel so it is a sprawling hotel with not many floors and the hallways go on forever. No elevator to the second floor either. I didn't personally have a problem with the hotel not having an elevator but in today's hotel experience, you would expect an elevator. August 19, 2015

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Spend more money to stay at a better hotel Ladies at the front desk were awful! At check in the only employee at the front desk had two men hanging out with her and they wouldn't even move over so we could check in. Went back a few hours later because I realized no one asked me about the free shuttle service time and both men were still there! Booked the shuttle for 7am, but again the woman at the front desk failed to mention that their shuttle was broken down and they only had a small sedan! THEY BOOKED 3 FAMILIES AT 7AM! We barely made our flight. The entire place smelled like stale cigarette smoke, it sat on the highway and was very noisy. When we returned to the airport, we called the hotel to pick us up - we waited 1 hour for a 12 minute ride. The front desk claimed the driver was stuck in traffic, but on the way back to the hotel we could see that there was no traffic. While we were waiting, the Holiday Inn Newark shuttle was there 5 times and many other non HIG hotels were there at least twice before Holiday Inn Rahway showed up. Never again! August 17, 2015
