Great hotel and the family room was lovely. The staff were pretty friendly and the chester zoo package was outstanding value for money. My only gripe was the restaurant. Despite being told it was fully booked when we checked in at reception (even though we were on an evening meal included deal) I chanced my arm at the restaurant and it was completely empty. We were told they would fit us in in 45 minutes which seemed fair enough. 45 minutes later the restaurant was equally deserted! So why the 45 minute wait? Whilst we were eating in the 3/4 empty restaurant other people were turned away. My advice is book a table as soon as you book the hotel, especially if you have kids and want to eat at a decent hour. Holiday Inn I think you should make this a suggestion on your website. Apart from that I would fully reccomend the hotel.

My Satnav guided me to this Hotel (from the M6) with unerring accuracy - The Reception was first class, and the Room was as clean and as cosy as a whistle. A comfortable nights sleep, followed the evening with friends, and a leisurely breakfast was an ticipated, - Alas all the guests seemed to arrive at the same time, and tables were scarce, however the food being served, (full english and continental buffet) was first class and worth the wait. - The only slight annoyance was the number of very young and noisy children dashing back and forwards to the buffet.with fresh supplies! - On the whole, a Good hotel experience.

The hotel was very clean and the room was lovely. Lots of tea and coffee in room and also hot chocolate, bottled water and chocolate bars! Well worth it, will definitely be visiting again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SMY71 Well placed and priced for Chester visit
Stayed for 3 nights in Oct 12 and overall the hotel was very satisfactory. Staff friendly and welcoming and helpful when we asked about getting around locally. Breakfasts were good but we ate other meals out so can't comment on any other aspects of the restaurant. Rooms are good sized, beds comfortable and things worked ok. Only downside was that we reckoned they need to be a bit more vigilant on the cleaning - we'd a chip and some sweet papers lying on the floor adjacent to the bedside cabinets. Hotel is well placed for Chester and there's easy access via the local bus which runs every 10 mins in peak times. Also within very easy motorway access.Overall - an enjoyable stay and we'd return

Breakfast was a bit hit and miss. Had to time it right to get bacon or eggs as they didn't bring out enough each time. Toaster only seems to burn the bread. Place is also a bit of a rabbit warren so take a piece of string with you. Great that it is so close to chester.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by lala96 Warm welcome and comfortable room
We had an excellent experience at the Holiday Inn Chester: from the warm welcome, accomodating receptionist (with regard to keeping our bikes inside the hotel overnight), the comfortable quiet room to a fantastic breakfast. The children also enjoyed the use of the swimming pool. Excellent value for money and we saved a few pounds getting our tickets for Chester zoo from reception.
