This was a most disappointing stay, not because of the room quality (which was good, and a larger room than average), but because of the general support and staff levels. I had the impression the hotel was being run on a shoestring, and the staff were rather stressed out, especially at breakfast, which was of disappointing quality, and served by very few staff. I did ask if this was some sort of franchise, because the whole feeling of the hotel was different from the normal smart, on-the-ball, and supportive staff attitude I usually encounter at a Holiday Inn. It did not help that there are atrocious roadworks at the roundabout outside the hotel, which did seem to be of a long-term nature. We arrived during the evening rush-hour and queued on the A45 for nearly half an hour to get into the hotel. Not the fault of the hotel, but it did not help when I had then to fight for Platimun recognition, which, for the last few stays at other HI's has been automatic and most welcome!

I couldnt fault this hotel for the helpfull staff and comfatable bed , would definatly come back

Adequate car parking being important, the start of the visit was fine! The reception area was well organised and I was acknowledged as a Platinum Elite member. Nice touch of course. The room was a good size and the general furnishings were fine. The TV menu was a bit of a challenge, but this so often is a variation from one hotel to another
We did not stay into dinner, but took breakfast the following day
The food was fine, though some of the items such as bacon and eggs a 'bit tired', probably because we sat down after the morning rush
The service of the staff was good and we enjoyed the stay at this hotel
I would recommend it and will definitely use it again when I need to be in this area.
