This hotel is easily found just off the A1M but it is right next to a busy roundabout so there is some traffic noise which might disturb your sleep.
Hotel was re-furbished a few years ago so is modern and fresh looking inside
A good 'Italian themed' restaurant and also good bar food, although service is the bar area can be a bit slow

Three night stay, covering a wedding and a little sight-seeing. Friendly, helpful staff; relaxed atmosphere; plenty of space

Excellent hotel - facilities and staff all great. We were visiting Richmond Georgian Theatre and taxied from hotel for £10 each way.
Room was large, light and airy and the facilities were above average.

I've passed this hotel countless times in my life and always knew it as The Scotch Corner Hotel. So we decided to try it for a one night stopover en route to Aberdeen and we were very impressed! Plus point - The ivy has gone!!!
Check in was smooth, efficient and friendly, and done with a very impressive art-deco chandelier above you! The room corridors are very wide with high ceilings reminding you of hotels from a time gone by.
Our room was spacious, well-equipped with a huge bathroom that you could get lost in!! We had a quiet and comfortable night's sleep followed by a very good breakfast before heading northwards on the A1.
I will definitely put this hotel top on my stopover to Scotland list.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mel271 Large lounge and great Italian restaurant.
Located at the junction of the A1 and A66 you might not have a good impression from the outside. However, you should be impressed by the large lounge with comfortable seating. Our room was well decorated, clean and comfortable and despite the location we were not troubled by traffic noise. If you enjoy Italian food I can highly recommend the restaurant. Food selection and quality are excellent. I wouldn't eat anywhere else if I was staying here. You can also enjoy food in the bar area. From this hotel you can explore the North Yorkshire Moors and surrounding towns and villages. I have stayed here on two occasions and will definitely return.
